May I please have your attention, my fellow fiber enthusiasts:

We are having our summer bag sale as a late spring bag sale to celebrate it being 25 years since I purchased Village Wool.

The Sale is from Tuesday May 19th through Saturday May 30.

This is how it works:

All the full-priced yarn in the store is 25% off the marked retail price
BUT
If you can FILL one of the medium-sized bags (or more) with full-priced yarn...
THEN
You get all that yarn for 50% off retail!
ALSO
The clearance yarn is 75% for the duration of the sale (all clearance is final sale), but clearance yarn does not count towards filling the bag.

The sale prices are valid for in-stock yarn only.

Once you have filled a bag during this sale, you can bring your receipt back for the duration of the sale to get the 50% off any afterthought purchases, you don't need to fill another bag to get the discount. Also, to mark this special occasion, everyone who fills a bag can enter our drawing for a prize that will be drawn at the end of the sale as a “thank you” to all our customers for their support.

Finally, PLEASE let your fiber friends know about the sale, because we lost our postal mail list when we moved last summer, and I'm not sure if I have everyone's email addresses yet. I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out!

See you at Village Wool! We are located at 882 Main Street, Unit C, South Glastonbury, CT 06073 (860) 633-0898

4 Research based reasons to teach your child to knit:

1. Improved self-control.
A 2023 study asked elementary school children to complete inhibition-control tasks after a short knitting session. Researchers found the knitting group performed better on both emotional and non emotional self regulation tasks compared to the control group.

2.Better attention & focus.
A 2025 study found that participants performed better on attention tests after just 20 minutes of crochet. Researchers also observed changes in brain networks linked to attention.

3.Stronger learning skills.
Knitting combines counting, sequencing, pattern recognition, reading instructions, and problem solving all within one activity, which is why fiber crafts are often discussed in hands on education research.

4.Supports motor coordination.
Knitting requires sustained hand movement, visual tracking, coordination, and concentration at the same time. Developmental research has consistently linked fine motor development with broader cognitive development in children.
