There’s no easy way to write this, and we’ve started and stopped more times than we can count.
Many of you followed Bayberry Cottage over the years. You cheered us on, supported us, and oohed and ahhed over the photos and the work. Not just for the homes and the products, but for the heart behind them. Our mom poured herself into this work, and we were lucky to build it alongside her. The three of us created spaces that were meant to feel as good as they looked, homes filled with personality, warmth, and intention.
We lost her on the coldest January day imaginable, and we haven’t known how to say that here, in this space that still feels so full of her.
For a long time, we couldn’t bring ourselves to come back to this page. It felt like stepping into a room where everything was exactly as she left it. Her joy and her color and her love are all laid out for the world to see. What an inspiration she was to us, and to so many of you.
Bayberry Cottage was never just a business. It was an expression of who she was, and a chapter of our lives that shaped us in every way.
We’re both finding our way forward now, slowly and in our own voices. What’s emerging is something new, but deeply rooted in everything she taught us. We’ll continue to bring beauty into the world, just as she inspired us to do.
Amber is carrying this work forward through something new called Color Theory. It’s an evolution of everything we learned together, and a space where that same belief lives on, that our homes should feel like something, not just look like something. Ashley will be right there alongside, bringing her sharp eye for detail and her ability to “lumberjack” when the job calls for it. And as always, a shared affinity for both color and shenanigans.
If you loved what Bayberry was, we think you’ll recognize pieces of it there, just seen through a different lens. Be sure to continue to follow this page for updates about where we're headed next!
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. It meant more than you probably knew.
