Every time I open a new box of wax, I can’t help but think of the waxing scene from 40 Year Old Virgin when the lady sees how hairy he is and shouts “We’re gonna need more wax!” This wax is a coconut soy wax from my friends at West Coast Candle Supply LLC. It produces beautiful smooth tops and throws scent really well.

Each candle component can affect the performance and safety of the final product. All candles are tested in four hour increments until all of the wax is burned to assure that the vessel doesn't get too hot, the flame not too large or producing soot, the wax is melting appropriately and the fragrance is performing well. Plant based waxes also have to cure for two weeks before being lit. We've all had candles that didn't perform well but that does not have to be the case!

I'm excited to start engaging with people about my candle making journey. I am hoping to get some feedback on branding, fragrances, vessels and other elements as I build my first line.
