Okay, so we’re almost halfway through August and now we’re posting our August calendar. 😅

We’re a little behind the eight ball over here, but for reasons we’re actually pretty okay with.

We’ve been soaking up the last little pieces of summer together as a family before the girls head back to school, while also spending a whole lot of time working behind the scenes on our studio renovation. There has been painting, building, organizing, moving things around...and then moving them around again. But we’re making progress!

We’ve also been spending a TON of time working on updates to our Fall Collection, and we’re getting really excited about what’s coming. You’ll actually start seeing some of those fall favorites slowly make their way back into the lineup as soon as this weekend. 🍂

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, August arrived.

We’ve already spent the first couple Saturdays of the month with our friends at YLNI, but there is still a lot ahead.

This weekend alone, we’ll be at the Great Cardboard Boat Race, YLNI Farmer’s Market, Satek Winery Art Show, AND then we’re heading back to Chicago for the MIX Trade Show, where we’ll be introducing Lighthearted to boutiques and retailers from across the Midwest.

Then we’ll finish out the month with a couple more Saturdays at YLNI. 🤍

Summer may be winding down, but Lighthearted definitely isn’t slowing down just yet.

We wanted to take a minute and share an update on our Read for Joy Fundraiser. 🤍

From May 11 through August 14, we’re donating 20% of every online order to Crossroads United Way in support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping put more books into the hands of children right here in our community.

And with just under a month left in the campaign, we’re so excited to share that we’ve already reached a donation total of $685.

That is such a meaningful number, and we know it will go a long way toward getting books into the homes of local children.

But we’d love to make one more big push.

Our hope is to reach $1,000 before the fundraiser ends on August 14.

If you’ve already shopped, shared, encouraged us, or cheered this campaign on, thank you. Truly. We have felt so supported by this community.

And if you’re just now hearing about the fundraiser, that’s probably on us. Our summer calendar has been packed with family moments, markets, festivals, travel, and so many opportunities we’ve been trying to fully soak up. It has been such a sweet, full season, but it has also meant we’ve been quieter than we meant to be.

This Saturday we’ll be taking a week away from our favorite market. ❤️

Instead of being at the YLNI Farmers Market, our little family will be heading to the Michigan Celtic Festival just outside Ann Arbor. While we’re there, we’ll also be taking the girls to explore the beautiful campus where Lindsay went to college—a place that holds so many special memories for us. We can’t wait to share a little piece of that with them.

Hello, July. 🤍

Before we jump into a brand new month, we have to say thank you for such an exciting, full, and memorable June.

Last month brought us so many new faces, familiar customers, and sweet conversations at events like the Chicago Highland Games and our local YLNI Farmer’s Market, which continues to blow us away week after week.

June also gave our family something we really needed: our first vacation in quite some time. We slowed down, stepped away for a few days, and soaked in the sweetness of a childhood summer with our girls. It was good for the soul.

And now July is here, and it feels full of its own kind of magic.

This month, we’ll be adding several new events to the calendar, including the 100th Annual National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, which feels like a really big deal for our small but growing candle company.

We’ll also be attending the Michigan Celtic Festival for the first time and heading to the Windy City for a regional trade show, where we’ll have the chance to introduce Lighthearted to boutiques and shops across the Midwest.

We’re feeling so much gratitude and joy as we look ahead at what’s coming for this company.

Thank you to every person who continues to choose our products, visit our booths, share our posts, tell a friend, and bring a little bit of Lighthearted joy into your home.
