Hi everybody. This message is from the founder of Bama Candle Co.
My name is Amy Bell (Byrd). My intentions for this post is since it is my first post I figured why not explain my business and just a little back story about me and on why I chose to start making candles. If you are interested, feel free to read the rest of this post.
So a little backstory on myself, I am 22 years old. I am married to the love of my life and we have a jack chi mixed female dog named piglet. I am from a small town in Alabama called Henagar. I had moved away from Alabama at 8 years old and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee... But they do say that you can't take the country out of the girl. So my small little family decided to move back to Alabama.
Enough about me, let's get into the good stuff. The real reason why you are here. I have been deciding on whether or not I wanted to start my own business, but I was just stuck on what kind of business I wanted to create. I was scrolling through TikTok one day and seen a video this lady had posted on how she made a living off of making and selling candles. Well, if you know me, you know I love candles and blankets. You can't ever have enough of them. But I don't think it would be interesting to sell blankets let alone make them. With candles, it's a different story. they're fun to buy but they should be fun to make. That must be why theres a billion of them out there, right? So, why not make a small business making candles and selling them?!
I was doing my research one day and had realized something. A very important piece of information. Everybody knows the FAMOUS candle brands called Yankee candle and White barn candle (bath and body works) right. Well, they were once small businesses right? Now, they are multi-billion dollar companies. So, what if my candles become that popular. Imagine.. Great right?
I'm trying not to ramble in this post because it's long enough already but that is some information about me and why I decided to start this candle business.
I have decided to use this page for posting my creations and hopefully in the near future I can start selling them and figure out what to do and where to go from there!
