If you are still deciding about The Case Conference, this one is for you.

I know the math you are running right now. Three days out of the studio, at the top of Q4, with clients waiting and a install calendar that does not care about your personal development. I ran that same math last year.

Here is what I did not put in the equation: the conversations that changed how I lead my team, what I let go of that only I was supposed to do, and what a studio actually looks like once it stops running through me alone. None of that came off a slide. It came from the room.

A small glimpse into my day. Walked Phase 2 of Timeless Japandi with the GC, reviewed the lighting plan and scope. Then it was back to the office to design and source for another project. This is the job! Then a stop at the grocery store and a few other errands. This is the mom! šŸ˜‚

Good furniture is one thing. A vendor who actually shows up for you is another. was my very first trade vendor when I started this studio, and years later, theyā€™re still who I call for every single project. Quick to respond, easy to reach, and clearly built for designers who donā€™t have time to wait around on an answer. The swivel chairs, the solid wood desk, and the brass side table in this space all came through them, and every order has been smooth from quote to delivery, just like it was on day one. Someone on Threads asked how do you store jeans and I shared my system. Next thing I knew the post had over 10K views, so I thought Iā€™d share here as well.

I use gold shower hooks and hang them by the belt loop. Dark to light, left to right. Typically there isnā€™t tension on the belt loop but if there is, I fold the jeans and double the loop.

I installed this closet in 2024 and it has been working great. I still love the gold pipe system. When I can see everything at a glance it makes getting dressed so much easier.

Watching J Schatz and walk us through their full process, from the color studies on the worktable to the kiln, was the kind of behind-the-scenes moment you donā€™t forget. One hundred years of history in a single arch!

This arch stopped me the first time I walked through. One hundred years old, original to the home, and it immediately set the tone for everything we were about to do. This home has several arches, each one a reminder of the history, design and architecture of that time and of Detroit.

I wonder who lived here then? I also wonder who will live here now?

That is how this project got its name. Arch History.

Arches are having a moment right now, but this one never needed one. It has been here the whole time. Our job was to make sure it stays.

This arch stopped me the first time I walked through. One hundred years old, original to the home, and it immediately set the tone for everything we were about to do. This home has several arches, each one a reminder of the history, design and architecture of that time and of Detroit.
