298 days of being in the Word!
This year my accountability group has been walking through and it has grown my faith in so many ways! I always felt intimidated to try and read the whole Bible in a year. I discovered that it was mostly because I felt like I had to enter into it with knowledge I didn’t have, rather than entering into it expectant that the Lord was going to teach me.
These last 298 days have taught me a lot. And while I definitely haven’t understood everything fully (hello Old Testament prophecy), day by day I still continue to see God’s faithfulness and compassion for His people. And, I see that what He’s been asking of me is to show up, not with expectations of a perfect quiet time or perfect understanding, but with expectations to encounter Him.
No matter where you are in your faith - maybe it’s brand new - let this encourage you that God doesn’t expect us to approach Him with any kind of perfection. That’s impossible! He wants us to come with open hands and hearts, waiting to receive what He has for us.
