We recently wrapped up a flooring renovation across three levels of the Spartanburg County Public Libraries Headquarters, including the new Planetarium Learning Center and the Kitty Black Perkins Maker Lab.
The work itself was a coordinated effort with Harper General Contractors and the library team, fitting installation around patrons and daily programming to keep the building open throughout. (County Librarian Todd Stephens called it "a ballet.")
But the real heart of this project is the stories behind the spaces. The library's role in shaping modern downtown Spartanburg. The journey of Kitty Black Perkins, the Spartanburg native who designed the first Black Barbie. The Planetarium that has already welcomed more than 15,000 visitors.

Spring Break looks a little different for the Hodge Floors team. While many families are traveling, our crews are getting to work across several Spartanburg schools while classrooms are empty.

This year we are proud to be working at:
Westview Elementary
Gable Middle School
Byrnes High School band room

These projects are just the beginning. Every summer, our crews work across many of the seven Spartanburg County school districts to make sure schools are ready for students when the new year begins. We are honored to help build the spaces where Spartanburg students learn, grow, and create memories.

Right now, we are experiencing something exciting at Hodge Floors. Our warehouse is quite literally busting at the seams!

We’re celebrating our friends and longtime partners at Clayton Construction Company, a team that has been building more than structures here in Spartanburg for over 40 years.

Their story is one of trust, relationships, and generosity that make our community so special. At Hodge Floors, we’ve worked alongside Clayton Construction on nearly 60 projects since 2011, from schools to healthcare spaces and beyond.

Every project has been a reminder that when people come together with shared purpose and care, incredible things happen.

At Hodge Floors, we were honored to install flooring that created a space that feels warm, welcoming, and built to last. Working with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s construction team, we installed Interface Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and carpet and Mannington LVT throughout the facility.

The opening of the new Union Medical Center is a huge win for Union County, and we're proud to be a part of this awesome project.
