Day 2 was a doozy. While we got so much out today, we still are 1 table short (and a few display pieces to put on said table). Back tomorrow morning before Vintage Market Days open to tidy up & prepare to see YOU!

Come say hi. We’ll be in barn 10. Bonus: plants will be 15% off!

PLANT SWAP 🌿 in just 2 weeks! Celebrate our 2nd anniversary with us & come to our swap & shop June 27.

Bring a plant you don’t want, grab a plant you do, & while you’re at it, buy a new plant or two from our group of 8 collectors. We’ll be stocking the store with tons of specialty plants, sales & cuttings from our personal collections.

The fun starts at 10AM & you won’t want to be late! The swap will conclude at 2PM.

I don’t often remember to take pictures or videos of the drop-ins but here is just one example of the kind of things I get to help with ❤️

This particular plant was in algae covered water & not looking so hot color-wise anymore. We pulled it out of its jar, found fantastic looking roots (& lots of new growth!), gave it a good rinse to get any of that algae off, & potted her up into some soil to hopefully promote that new growth to keep growing.

This was far from the worst plant I’ve helped recover since opening our doors to walk-ins. It has been one of the greatest joys of owning Cat & Mouse to be given the opportunity to save plants that are so special to their owners.

If you need a hand, come in for drop-in hours on the weekend or make an appointment for a weekday. Or, you can always DM us with any questions about any plants you have.

We’ve been dying to do a Staghorn Fern Mounting class for awhile now & I’m so glad that we finally were able to pull this one together.

We had a fantastic group for this class which made for a great night.

Some new substrates in the house! Plus, a soil sale this weekend 😉

If you’ve talked with me about semi-hydro before, you’d know pon is one of my favorite substrates. We now have a limited number of bags available at the shop.

Our hand mixed soil has also been restocked AND it’ll be on sale. Buy 2, get 1 free. Limited number of chunky & regular available.

We’ve also restocked sphagnum moss so you can propagate all those plants for our June 27 plant swap!

As a special Memorial Day bonus, all plants will be 15% off! See you in store tomorrow 10-1 & Sunday 11-4. Repots open during those hours.

I know there are other vendors out there that can relate 😂🤣

But seriously, this was a really fun market. Even in the cold, with all the panic about keeping plants warm enough, we had the best day talking to all of you who came. And the sun did eventually come out! Our last May market wasn’t quite so lucky… it hailed most of the day & if it wasn’t hailing, it was pouring down rain. 😬

What’s your craziest market story? Comment below.

Believe it or not, I almost threw this plant away when I walked into the shop yesterday to water. It had completely dried out in its 2” pot, soil hard as a rock. All its leaves were closed up and flopped over, its bloom had fallen off. BUT, I stand by the “water it & see” method. Hell, half the plants in my house wouldn’t be alive without the belief that nothing is dead until it’s dead & watered.

A little water, a new pot & a day later, & this guy looks good as new. He still hates me picking him up & gosling him though 🤣

Your plants are worth giving another chance. My favorite plants are always the ones I’ve almost killed. They feel like personal success stories. Little reminders that keep me going when a plant inevitably does die.

Remember, nothings dead until it’s dead & watered 😉
