We will be welcoming guest speaker Jule Schultz of Spokane Riverkeeper as we explore the story of the Spokane River—from pollution to restoration, and the role we all play in what comes next. This isn’t just about water. It’s about policy, design, community action, and how small decisions shape something much bigger. Light bites, refreshments, and good conversation included!

As our studio evolves, so does the structure that supports it. We’re excited to share a couple of well-earned role expansions within our team.

Spencer has stepped into the role of Business Manager, expanding his impact across finance, HR, hiring, and facilities. He brings clarity and cohesion to the systems behind our work.

Cody is now Studio Director, focusing on strengthening our internal operations and supporting our project teams to do their best, most thoughtful and aligned work.

These roles reflect the way our studio continues to grow with people who take ownership, evolve, and strengthen the work from within.

Join [us] on Friday, May 29th to welcome artist Deborah Griffin to our studio!

Deborah is a painter and mixed-media artist whose work defies a single style, medium, or definition, and she's made peace with that. Based between Spokane, WA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and a studio on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Deborah brings a life richly lived to every canvas: a country upbringing, a career dressing fashion capitals, and 40 years running Starshine Studio producing bespoke hand-painted fabrics and wall coverings for the high-end interior design world.

Deborah makes art because she has to. It is, she'll tell you plainly, what she believes she was put here to do. We hope you can make it!

From there, we’ll send a custom questionnaire to better understand your goals, vision, and how you want to function and live in the space. Within a few days we’ll schedule an initial virtual or in person meeting to dive a little deeper, answer questions, and get a feel for the fit on both sides.

When everything aligns, our team will put together a thoughtful proposal and we’ll get the ball rolling!

Situated on a narrow band of land between Lake Pend Oreille and active railroad corridor, Ponder Point residence was designed for a site defined by constraint. Rather than treating the approximately 8600 square feet of wetlands as an obstacle, the project approaches the site as a sensitive landscape to be carefully inhabited while minimizing disturbance.

Cast-in-place concrete, steel panels, standing seam metal roofing and Accoya wood siding provide durability in the lakeside environment. Native planting, wetland mitigation credits, and stormwater management systems further support the ecological function of the site.

Ponder Point demonstrates how structural ingenuity and careful site planning can allow architecture to inhabit a fragile landscape while preserving the natural systems that define it.
