Here in the PNW, many of us want to capitalize on all the natural light we can get — especially in these winter months — by incorporating lots of white into our homes. But choosing all-white-everything risks making a space feel a bit cold, sterile, and lifeless. We’re here to say that you shouldn’t be afraid to incorporate some dark & moody moments! It can create that perfect “wow” factor by adding drama and contrast. Our clients are sometimes nervous about using dark colors, but once they see the finished result, it often becomes their favorite part of the space!

This kitchen remodel posed some unique challenges as we were working with a tight-knit space, a tight budget, and a floor that wasn’t level, making it a nightmare to make the cabinets flush. To make matters worse, there were horrible winter weather conditions up in the mountain town where this project took place, leading to road closures so the contractors weren’t able to access the property for weeks at a time.

But after some problem-solving and additional site visits, we’re so happy with how it turned out! We centered the stove to increase the amount of counter space in the corner and make it more functional, and added tiling on the whole wall and range hood which made the space feel so much taller, brighter, and more spacious. Also, investing in beautiful high-quality appliances like this Café collection is such an easy way to elevate a kitchen. Swipe for the ‘before’ 🤍

One thing I’ve noticed about homes in the local area is that many of them are either completely outdated, or the interiors feel very modern, sterile, and void of personality. I see so many gray, white, and black stock finishes going into new builds that I know are already going to feel outdated in 5-10 years.

It’s rare to see interiors in the area that strike a balance between high-quality, contemporary, sophisticated finishes, and timeless natural materials that will never go out of style.

My goal moving forward is to bring a fresh aesthetic to the Spokane-CDA area — one that blends modern design with rustic charm that honors the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I’ve been working on a ton of conceptual designs and gathering inspiration for future projects — this is a rendering I created for a lakefront cabin in CDA with a focus on our new signature Rustic Modern style🤎

We’ve rebranded and relocated!

Moving forward, we will be specializing in full-scope renovations, custom new builds, and turnkey furnishing & styling for family homes in the lakeside areas of the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Now that I’m officially all settled in and finished with the rebrand, I cannot wait to devote my business to the types of projects I am truly passionate as we head into 2025.
