Staggs & Staggs Sign Co., LLC A husband and wife team creating hand made metal signs. Staggs & Staggs is a husband and wife duo (with the occasional assistance from our 7 year old).

Eric, a full time firefighter and part time boat builder, and Alycia, our in-house design goddess and the proprietor of Lexi Lou Jewels. Together we work to find new and creative ways to put your memories on found items for one of a kind, heirloom art. With a focus on local and American made, we work very hard to identify products domestically sourced. As often as possible, we also like to locate post-consumer, salvaged, or found items to display your image on.

Another perfect find.

This cribbage board was made for someone named Jett and as luck would have it, I found a Joyride Snowboards snowboard from the 90s with jets on it. How great is that?

This one got the full treatment: cribbage holes cut on my Onefinity CNC, custom snow-themed pegs cut on the my Thunder Laser USA | Laser Engraving & Cutting Machines, and a matching storage box so everything has its place.

I’m having way too much fun finding new ways to give old sports gear a second life, and this is definitely not the last one. There are plenty more ideas in the works, so keep an eye out for more snowboard, ski, and waterski projects coming soon.

Some projects just write themselves.

This vintage early 90’s already had the perfect “F” built into the graphic, making it the ideal canvas for a custom LED neon sign for the Freeze family. It felt like the board had been waiting for this moment for 30 years.
And really, what could be more fitting than the name Freeze on a snowboard?
The lettering was CNC-cut and mounted to create a clean, bright neon effect while preserving the character of the original board. I love finding new ways to give old gear a second life, especially when the design feels like it was meant to be there all along.
Fair warning: this is just the beginning. I’ve got a growing pile of vintage skis, snowboards, and other sports gear waiting for their second act, so expect to see a lot more projects like this coming soon.

One vintage 1979 Honeycomb water ski, two cribbage boards.
I turned this classic ski into two playable cribbage boards. The holes for the flat tail section were cut precisely with my Onefinity CNC. The curved section? That one was done the old-fashioned way on the drill press. Trust me, nobody wants to watch that much less exact and awkward process.
The ski is painted aluminum, which made it perfect for my Thunder Laser to create crisp, flawless scoring tracks by removing just the paint layer. Next up, laser cut custom water ski themed pegs and custom laser cut acrylic storage boxes to hold the pegs and a deck of cards.
These boards are headed out as graduation gifts for two friends who grew up together on the lake and will be roommates in college. Not a bad way to take a little piece of home with them.
And can we take a minute to appreciate the giant 6-7 graphic on this ski? This 1979 ski might be trendier now than it was when it was new.
Stay tuned. Vintage sports gear is about to get a lot more interesting around here. These old skis have opened up all kinds of possibilities.

Putting neon on vintage sports gear: round 2. This one’s personal.

These old Jarvinen XC skis are from my childhood, definitely used by someone taller than me at some point. They’ve spent the last 20 years sitting around the house, just waiting for the right assignment. After countless laps around our 20 acres growing up, giving them a new life like this felt pretty fitting.

For this piece, I used red, white, and blue LED neon to keep that classic vintage ski feel alive while giving them a new glow. Huge shoutout to Florence (my ) for carving the cleanest channels for the lights like it always does.

To finish this piece off, I flame polished the edges of the polycarbonate for a little extra shine. The secret is using a really small flame and just enough heat to make the edges glow without melting everything into a science experiment.

Bloomsday is a 12k road race in Spokane, Washington and this year marks its 50th anniversary!

Around here, doing Bloomsday at least once feels like a Spokane right of passage. The course winds through town, along the Spokane River and past some of the city’s most iconic spots, making it just as much a celebration of Spokane as it is a race.

It was a blast getting to create the laser cut wood and LED neon map to celebrate such an iconic local event and have a small part in something that means so much to this city.

Let’s try this again!

The pitchfork has been resurrected and is ready for today’s early release of The Devil Wears Prada 2 at . Let’s hope it lasts more than a few hours this time.

This project came with a LOT of firsts.

asked me to make a pitchfork for the giant red high heel display to promote The Devil Wears Prada 2. I have not created a 3D file since I was in school (StudioMax anyone?), but Illustrator made this suspiciously easy, I was done in under 5 minutes. This was also Florence’s first 3D carve and she definitely understood the assignment. (Thanks )

From there it turned into a full foam prop adventure: endless sanding, layer after layer of paint and a lot of trust in the process.

It was installed this morning and intentionally destroyed this afternoon. Apparently my next skill to learn is pitchfork resurrection. Stay tuned.

Made this custom “no wake zone” LED neon sign on a thrifted water ski and now I may never stop putting lights on old sports equipment.

Really loving the process of turning vintage finds into statement pieces. More ski and snowboard builds are definitely coming.

Tried something new on this one.

Reclaimed metal, hand painted layers and my first dive into gold leaf, finished off with some strips of LED neon to bring it to life. Made for a friend’s home gym and honestly…I’m pretty hooked on this combo.

Keeping it clean and classic for this golf themed sign.

Green lights on a dark green background with golf ball texture leatherette bringing it all together. Simple, but it hits just right.
