10.23.26 Happy Finished Object Friday!

Awen by Meghan Babin was an absolute pleasure to knit. I used my last sweater quantity of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (RIP) for this piece.

Knit in size 4 (46.5”), it has 3-4 inches of positive ease and used about 11.5 skeins of yarn on size 7 needles.

I made these box bags for some in-person markets last fall and never got around to listing them online until yesterday! 9x4”, they’re perfect as a small travel project bag for socks, or to throw in your larger tote to keep all your bits and bobs contained. Check them out in my Etsy shop - SpringCreekTextiles. I even have some available made with my own handwoven fabric!

I am finally on to the last two sections of winding my next warp! This process always takes sooooo much longer when each section is a different combination of colors. It means I have to rearrange spools on the spool rack and rethread the tension box for every single inch across the whole width of the warp.

I’m using four different neutrals in this warp and they blend together across the width. It will be very subtle, and some may say it’s not worth the effort, but I think that attention to detail is what handcraft is all about. Having control over every little decision that goes into the final product. I think these towels are going to be beautiful!

I have a new batch of handwoven baby blankets listed in my Etsy shop. These are woven using 100% unmercerized U.S.-grown cotton, spun and dyed in a mill right here in North Carolina. Fabulous!
