e product. Minor warping is not considered a defect. Changes in temperature or humidity will cause wood to naturally expand or contract and can be corrected through proper installation and care. Wood grain and color variations are not considered a defect.

Repurposing some of the legendary sassafras found uprooted from a twister at least a half dozen years ago. Curvy modern organic vases (or pen/pencil holder) accomplished via bandsaw was an interesting process with tons of sanding created one of a kind pieces. These’ll be displayed in our fall shows. When we travel by road-trippin to regions with a different flora and fauna, some shopping of local sawyers is certainly interesting. In this case, central Florida where I found monkey pod (the dark wood), and ambrosia maple. Both I’ve never worked with. So, after a scrubbing and treatment, these are stacked to air dry for about one year. This is rough sawn and dirty but when planed smooth, the magic happens.

Sharing these modern-organic trivets before being picked up by customer with an eye for uniqueness. Because sassafras is so deeply storied with a rich history, and not to mention uncommonly found, would add a touch of uniqueness to any setting whether beneath a plant or hot dish. Approximately 1.5” thick and 8” to 10” in diameter. Treated with mineral oil/beeswax. Equipped with rubber feet. Custom engraving is available.

Put our supply of hardwood cut-offs to use making “smalls” for our falls shows. Bread knives and Danish spatulas. Also found a downed sassafras tree from past twister. Couldn’t resist hauling out several logs of this deeply storied wood with an interesting history to make beautiful modern-organic trivets for plants, hot pots, or whatever you can imagine.
