Spoiler: it can cost you more than the design fee.
Good design isnāt just about choosing beautiful finishes. Itās thinking through how youāll actually live in and interact with the space.
Where does the furniture go? Is there an outlet where you need one? Is there enough room to comfortably walk around the dining table? Does the lighting make sense for how the room will be used?
When your designer is involved early, those conversations happen before decisions become expensive to change.
Changing something on paper is easy. Changing it after itās been ordered, installed, framed, wired, plumbed, or built? Not so much.
Late design decisions can mean change orders, rush fees, restocking fees, additional labor, delayed timelines, or even removing work that was already completed.
Bringing your designer in early helps create a clear plan before everyone starts building from it.
Cabinet profiles. Flooring. Paint. Plumbing fixtures. Lighting. Hardware. Countertops. Tile. Grout. Furniture. Window treatments.
And every decision affects another one.
A designer doesnāt just make those decisions for you. A good designer narrows the options, keeps everything connected to the overall vision, and helps you make informed decisions in the right order.
That means less second guessing, fewer overwhelming choices, and a home that feels like home.
You donāt need to have all the answers before calling an interior designer. In fact, thatās the point.
The earlier Chelsee and her team are involved, the more opportunity they have to think through the details, collaborate with your builder and trades, anticipate potential problems, and make sure the decisions being made today support the home you ultimately want.
Interior design isnāt the finishing touch, itās a vital piece of the puzzle.
