We love when a customer chooses something a little unexpected, and this geometric tile brings so much personality to the space before the bathroom is even finished.

And while the tile is what catches your eye, take a look behind it. That orange you see in the shower is part of the Schluter waterproofing system our team uses when building custom showers.

There’s a LOT happening behind this orange.

Not every shower is a simple rectangle — and not every tile installation is created equal.

This project is a perfect example. An angled ceiling, built-in bench, round window, multiple transitions and a custom shower layout mean there are a lot of details that have to come together before the pretty tile ever goes up.

What you're seeing here is a Schluter waterproofing system installed throughout the shower, along with Schluter-DITRA on the bathroom floor.

Why does that matter?
Because the part of your shower you’ll never see again may be the most important part of the entire installation.

A properly installed waterproofing system is designed to manage moisture behind the tile and protect the structure underneath. And when you're working around details like this window, bench, corners and transitions, the skill and attention that goes into the prep matter.

This is also why we use Schluter systems for our showers.
We don't just want your shower to look beautiful when the project is finished. We want the work behind the tile to be something we're proud of, too.

This is just a PEEK at what’s hiding behind our showroom.

Most customers never see this part of our business — but it’s actually a huge part of why we do flooring differently.

Behind our showrooms, we warehouse a massive amount of flooring.

Why?
Because instead of relying only on samples and ordering a few boxes at a time, we buy in volume. When we find the right products and the right buying opportunities, we can purchase large quantities, stock them ourselves and keep new inventory moving through our warehouse.

That does a few pretty important things:

Our crews install flooring in lived-in homes every single day, and we understand that life doesn’t magically stop just because you’re getting new floors.
Sometimes that means getting a little creative.

In this home, our crew installed one side of the space first. Once it was ready, the homeowner was able to move their belongings over so we could continue installing the other side.

Was the house perfectly staged and empty? Nope.
Did it need to be? Nope.

We’ll work with you to make the installation process as manageable as possible while still getting the job done right.

Because inviting an installation crew into your home is a big deal. We’re working around your furniture, your kids, your pets and your everyday life — and we never want to forget that we’re guests in your space.
