Save this as a reminder for the next time you go on a winding spree. For π•‹π•šπ•‘ 𝕋𝕦𝕖𝕀𝕕𝕒π•ͺ I’m going to remind you. Squeeze your cakes (or balls) to make sure you haven’t over stretched your yarn while winding it up.

A nicely shaped head or body for plushies. Drape and comfort in wearables and blankets. They will thank you.

Plus I find that’s there’s better durability and quality with my work. And less squeaking of yarn, no matter the hook or project.

The month the garden comes alive.

May in the Midwest is a very busy month. Lots of planting and tending to the garden.

Nothing fancy, complicated, or high maintenance. Just what gets the job done. Basic things that work for small spaces.

I turned my regular sandwich bread into a delicious s’mores treat just in time for summer days.

Six simple ingredients in a beginner friendly recipe.

And yes, yeast bread still offers the same easy to digest and nutrient benefits as sourdough: on a smaller scale.

Ingredients
3c of flour, divided5T salt
1.5T sugar
2 tsp yeast (1 packet)
1 T shortening
Generous 1c of warm (~125 degrees) water

1/4c mini chocolate chips
1/3c mini marshmallows

Instructions:
1. Mix 1.5c of flour and rest of dry ingredients together; then cut in shortening
2. Add warm water and mix thoroughly. Then add flour (~1.5c) until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and holds a ball shape
4. Let rise for at least an hour
5. β€˜Punch down’ [press air out] dough and let rest 5+ min. Then add chocolate chips and marshmallows. Fold into dough and shape into a loaf.
6. Let sit in loaf pan for another 30+ min to double in size
7. Bake at 425 for 27 minutes. Remove from pan to a rack to cool.
