Making a Hair Slide bun cover from start to finish. Starting with a texture mat from Create Along and pearl white clay from Cernit. 'Paint' with mica powders and then cut and bake... last two pictures are of the finished barrette and some extra heart studs that I was able to get out of the slab.

Trying out Cernit Translucent clay. All of the colors that you see are translucent except for the white. The first 2 pictures are before baking (curing). The next two are after. The last two are after baking without light behind it and with light behind it. I love working with Cernit, it's my favorite clay. Now to figure out how to finish the earrings...

Made some earrings and a small pendant to donate to a good cause! I'm both excited and anxious, this is my first earrings that I've been happy to give away!

A couple of Easter Bunnies that I made for my grandkids... these are attempts 2 and 3. Unfortunately, the 1st one did not survive, I accidentally dropped it and it broke into pieces. I made the first one from Sculpey III so I think that it might have made it more fragile. Oh well, I'm learning with each mistake! It was fun to sculpt them! And the kids loved them ..

So this is what I have been up to since I last posted... learning about polymer clay, and air dried clay and how to make jewelry from them. There are the beginnings of earrings, beads for bracelets and maybe necklaces and just testing out flower molds.. who knows what they'll become? These are just the beginning, a lot more work to go! What do you think?

Time for a change...I'm updating my workspace and my direction... I'm getting into making earrings, beaded bracelets, and maybe pendants with polymer clay. It's going to be a while but will post things as I go along. I will still be doing custom resin items and custom tumblers for anyone who needs them. Oh and of course, I'll still be painting...

Thanks to my sister, Wendy, and her Ikea gift card for Christmas, I am able to get a little more organized. And this old lady still has it, I put everything together myself!

I made a Grinch ornament for my grandson. Wasn't too hard, the mold was nice. The different parts were deep and I could pour different colors and let cure then pour black to back those colors. I also did a Harry Potter Ravenclaw ornament for my Granddaughter. That was a completely different story! I did 4 of them, resin, 2 clay polymer and 1 air dry clay before the last one I did in resin and felt it was good enough. The mold wasn't deep enough and honestly too intricate to be deep, so I 'painted' it with mica powders and let it sit overnight. Then I poured a thin layer of clear resin and let that cure. Then I poured a blue layer over top if that. The mica powder layer was very tedious and I was so glad it turned out well. Both ornaments have a top layer of UV resin to make them shine! The 1st two pictures are the first layer of the grinch and the mica powder layer of the other and the last two pictures are the final product. I love them and the grands did too!

Two of my favorites that I painted a few years ago just as I was getting back into art. In high school I loved designing clothes and thought about going to fashion design school but never did. 40 years later I got back into art and have been on this great journey of discovery...

A couple of things that I have been working on. Trying out some new resin and a resin heat mat. The heat mat was fantastic! The trinket tray is a slate blue color with chunky white glitter for sparkle! The coasters and keychains are orange and yellow alcohol inks.
