Elizabeth & William McGeorge of Creetown, Scotland - my third great-grandparents. 💗 We made Creetown our home base for the past couple of nights where we searched the Church of Scotland cemetery to find our resting family. My mom’s granddad was twelve when he moved to the US with his parents. These were his grandparents, and my beloved nana’s great-grandparents.

Creetown is a tiny village of maybe 600, but it has the most impressive gem & rock museum that was a must-see before leaving, + I had to go back to visit the cemetery horses one last time. What a special way to end the trip. We’re back in Edinburgh now to catch our early flight back tomorrow. After what seems like both a short & a long time away, I’m ready to come home.

Lots of driving & exploring today around Isle of Skye + our first real rainy day of the trip. ☔️ Missouri backroads have nothing on these single lane switchbacks. (The driving here is SO MUCH FUN!) Parked outside of Glasgow for the night. 400 miles so far on the rental.

Traded public transit for private wheels. Time to stretch the legs. (I call designated driver. 🙋🏼‍♀️🏁)
