I am reading a book called American Decorative Arts. This particular edition came out in 1982 and it is a coffee table sized book. The book looks almost untouched and I am keeping it for my reference library.

A few pages in, reading about the colonial period, this first image shown below is highlighted. It is fascinating to read about styles that came to America in the early 17th century. Our gateleg table shown below, being from the late 19th century to early 20th century.

I love gateleg tables because they are one of the most versatile pieces of furniture to own.

They also have a special place of significance to me because my great grandmother had one in her home which eventually became my childhood home, making me the 5th generation to live there!
