Window treatments are the most underrated part of a room and I’ll die on that hill.

They control the light, the mood, and honestly whether a space feels finished or not.

For this project, I partnered with to layer bamboo shades and custom drapery throughout the home and it completely changed how each room feels.

What mattered here:
• cordless shades because grandkids are always around
• custom rods cut to exact width (no sagging, no seams)
• trim details that make curtains feel actually custom
• layering for depth instead of flat, one-note windows

The family room got the bold moment.
The dining room stayed soft and textured.
The breakfast room is durable and happy.

Same foundation, different vibe in every space.

Lamps shape a room at night.
Window treatments shape it during the day.

There’s nothing I love more than a good before-and-after (swipe!). This living room went from a blank slate to a bold, sophisticated space full of character.

A stunning painting by local artist Anne Molasky was center to the design, now framed by custom arched built-ins I designed (and expertly built by ) that add depth and balance while cleverly hiding an awkward bump-out remaining from a long-ago fireplace. We leaned into moody blues and greens to complement the art, with a merlot velvet sofa bringing a rich pop of color.

Designed for both cozy movie nights and entertaining, this room is now as functional as it is beautiful. And believe it or not, this room is for a family with young kids, so all of the furniture is kid-friendly and incredibly durable. What’s your favorite detail?

Do you know what feels AMAZING?

Developing the ability to take the creativity in my brain— the beautiful images that my mind designs— and manifest them into the world. I’ve never been a transitional “artist” in the sense that I can’t draw or paint very skillfully. And honestly, I let that hold me back from pursuing interior design for way too long. But I’ve been learning and practicing various software tools such as Sketchup and Enscape that allow me to extract the ideas I see in my brain and put them into a digital medium. I absolutely love doing renderings because of this! Here are some examples from a project I just completed in class.

I would love to help you envision a brand new space in your home and bring it not just into the digital world, but into the physical world as well.

I love helping clients pick out the perfect paint for their rooms. Walls, ceiling, trim— they can all be incredibly difficult to nail down (especially whites!). If you get it wrong, a color can look muddy, not the right tone, and can clash with other large elements in your space, such as floors, cabinetry, or tile. Generally, you want to keep warm tones together and cool tones together (though it’s not always as simple as that!).

This client wanted a cozy (and TV free!) living room that was kid and pet friendly for their historic home in Shaw. Since the dining room and living room open up to each other—with stunning original pocket doors, might I add— I selected swivel chairs that could be turned to face the dining room for flexibility and to allow more conversations when hosting. The leather chairs are great for both pets and kids (they will patina beautifully!), and the sofa is a performance fabric that will resist kid stains and pet scratches.
