Kelly Schellert, ASID (and ’08-‘09 President of the Missouri East Chapter of ASID, American Society of Interior Designers) partnered

with husband, Ron Schellert in 2006 to launch their first design/remodeling firm. With over 16 years experience in leading kitchen, bath design, interior design and remodeling, Kelly’s background teamed with Ron’s remodeling experience quickly made their firm an award-winning, nationally recognized, full turnkey source for a complete interior design/build package. After 2011, Schellert narrowed her focus to design services, allowing her to broaden her scope of projects to include more Commercial work. While mainly focusing on residential design, her work also encompasses a variety of commercial design projects and developments. Kelly Schellert has focused more on revitalizing older homes and incorporating sustainable features to make them more energy efficient and comfortable for the clients. Every design is an individual expression reflecting the needs and style of Kelly’s clients, translated with beautiful, forward-thinking details to make each one memorable. Today marks 6th months since out family was randomly caught in a mall shooting. A terror filled 25 minutes of trying to get out not just for us but for our 8 yo daughter , who was surrounded by chaos. 6 months of night terrors and therapy, of parenting the best way we know how, one foot in front of the other, each day and each night as it comes.
I won’t say it’s been easy but she is worth it, and restoring the peace and sanity and normalcy of our life is worth every second.
This girl, my family, is my WHY. 34.5 weeks of strict Bedrest (we moved our bed down into the great room), 21.5 hours of very complicated labor, and an emergency c-section plus two rounds of 6 months of physical therapy… She’s a fighter, but so am I. The importance of being mentally strong and fortified to tackle what gets thrown at you daily in life, in business and also being a parent (and for her, a child of this pandemic) is what it takes.
Fortunately, JUSTSTRONG™]] recognized that in our girl and selected her from thousands to be a Brand Ambassador, because in spite of all she went through and having a night terrors episode just hours before going onto the stage Nationals, she showed up and she did it with all the heart, grace and tenacity of her fierce little warrior spirit. The tiny warrior heart that beat inside of me that hung on in spite of the complicated pregnancy and birth..
She is now a 2021 2x Spotlight Dance Cup National Championship and her third dance (a trio from Gypsy) placed 3rd overall nationally.
We support the movement of JUSTSTRONG™]] as well as bringing awareness that mental health and trauma resources are available for children and their families.
We thank our family, our friends and our best clients for being unconditionally supportive and amazing these last 6 months. You have given us the space to grieve the loss of innocence for our child as well as helped put us back together . Most importantly you have allowed us patience and understanding and grasping the bigger picture of life, and what’s truly important.

Took a design client shopping for new tops today.

Among the many benefits of working with a designer who has years of experience in kitchens and baths is the knowledge provided during a hand select.
The kinds of fissures and veins to avoid, what’s okay, composition of the stone, weight versus the durability of cabinets the tops will sit on. Are they existing or do you have the opportunity to put in newer (and sometimes beefier construction to carry the weight appropriately).
That’s in addition to coordination with the overall palette, including but not limited to: paint, trim, lighting, tile, cabinetry color and finishes, hardware, sink, faucets, appliances, grout and small appliances.
An experienced luxury designer will help fix site lines and alignment issues in a cost effective way, as well as taking into account all of the elements of design: line, rhythm, movement in addition to lifestyle and wellness.
I know we designers make it look easy but a toolbox in anyone’s hands does not a Michelangelo make.
The value and benefits of a designer provide years long enjoyment of the very intimate spaces that support your family (in home) or employees and your patrons (in business).
I have studied psychology, marketing with a major degree in interior design with minor studies in sustainable architecture and have been designing for 23+ years, from basic color consultations to full turnkey renovations for residential and commercial.
