The students front Cor Jesu Academy exploring a career in Interior Design traved with me today. They enjoyed seeing some custom furniture I designed. They met some clients in their homes and heard about existing projects. We later toured the St. Louis Design Center's KDR. We practiced drawing a kitchen renovation and finished our day back at school. There we took on the design of a staff persons office.

Merry Christmas from my home to yours! If you had me help you put out all of your Christmas decor this year, you already experienced some of my tips. For anyone looking for ideas, I thought I would share a few.
1. You can create a simple centerpiece with miscellaneous greenery, pretty ornaments, and a platter from the kitchen.
2. Use existing items, like your books, to create layers, background, and scale to your smaller accessories.
3. You don't need to remove all of your existing accessories. Layer a holiday picture book, a wreath or greenery to your display, and then the attention changes from your old to the new.
4. Try to find common ground when grouping your many little decorations. The little wooden Santa's, for example, sure look cute in front of the wood carved platter.
5. You don't need everything out for display every year. Pick a collection of your favorite pieces and know it might change from year to year. It's ok. It keeps things feeling fresh.
6. Edit, edit, edit! Holiday decor goes from beautiful to crazy so fast! (Some of you may be going for that whimsical over the top holiday cheer. That's ok, too!)

Enjoy! The best part of helping clients get their home ready for the holidays is that universal smile I see when finished. It leaves me with that warm holiday cheer.

I enjoyed having the Cor Jeau Academy girls join me again for a day learning all about a career in Interior Design. We made one of their school's employees very happy with our design of her office. The girls seemed proud, too!

Oct 16th, 2023, I'm hosting students from Cor Jesu Academy St. Louis on a career day experience. I'm looking for a volunteer to have a ReDesign. Cor Jesu Academy St. Louis hosts a day where students can explore career choices. Every year I bring a group of girls along with me representing Interior Design.
They traveled to job sites, visited our showroom, and then we worked our magic doing a redesign at one of the staffs home.

I have spent several years on this homes interior, and the outside pool/lani areas of this home too. I will be sad to see it go, but I'm proud of my design work here.

Yesterday we lost My Mother in Law, JoAnn Markham. I'm letting all of my wonderful clients know because you have been part of my journey this past year 19 months. JoAnn became my second job when we moved her into our home, and it required my time to become divided. You have shown compassion, offered flexibility when it was required, provided friendship, encouragement, all while allowing our work to be done. I love my job, my creative brain remained my sanity through some difficult times. Thank you!!
