A “Desmond Dekker”. This is the first “original creation” drink I’ve made up in a very long time. While on a recent weekend getaway, I purchased a bottle of Bittercube Jamaican No. 2 bitters. One of my common after-work tipples is a glass of Pronto amaro from Trader Joe’s. I’ve also been enjoying aged rum a bit more than normal as well. Lastly, I’m a big fan of simple Old Fashioned tipples when hanging around the home. All of that being said, a “Desmond Dekker” was born…

•3 parts Pronto amaro
•1 part aged rum (I’m using Still 630’s Expedition Rum)
•2-3 dashes of Bittercube Jamaican No. 2 bitters
•A couple splashes of water
•Stir and add ice.

You know we love a good drink/hand pie pairing. And WOO DANG is this the best one ever!

Crystal has been doing the most incredible slushies all summer. I mean fancy, delicious, local, grown up slushies. Now that we’re cruising into Fall she has created one with our personal fave Fall flaves: Pear & Persimmon!

You know what goes real good with a Pear & Persimmon slushie? A Pear & Persimmon hand pie!

Extra treat yourself by going over to our buds at Barkeep to give this dude a boozy lil’ kick. Move over loaded Bloody Mary there’s a new babe in town.

Make it a balanced breakfast with a Broccoli Cheddar & Pork Banh Mi.

Plenty of frozen too. See ya soon!

Winter is coming. Now’s the time for Alton Brown’s aged eggnog recipe. You’ll thank your “summer self” in winter.

A “Shade Thrower” from Freddy Schwenk at .

The recipe calls for a half ounce of Averna, but I had to improvise with a 1/4 of Meletti and a 1/4 of Cynar instead. 🤷🏻‍♂️

2oz. bourbon
1/2oz. Averna (or 1/4 Cynar, 1/4 Meletti?)
1/2oz. Italian vermouth
1/4oz. Aperol
2d Angostura bitters

Stir with ice and strain into a rocks glass and new ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
