Dark Green Waxed Canvas & Leather Crossbody Tote

It held everything and asked for nothing, which is more than can be said for most relationships.

The bag is dark green waxed canvas, the color of a forest that has made peace with getting rained on. This does not bother the bag. Nothing bothers the bag — it was waxed specifically so that water, doubt, and the vague sense that you should probably be carrying something more practical would simply roll off it, and in this it succeeds completely, which puts it ahead of almost everyone I know.

On the front, I embroidered wildflowers — daisies, mostly, with a few yellow clover blooms standing around like they wandered into the wrong photograph. This is permanent in a way real flowers, with their tragic little life cycles, never manage. The flowers don’t know they’re on a bag. The bag doesn’t know it has flowers. Only you will know both things, and you’re the one who has to carry it.

Top and bottom are avocado leather — a color that exists to reassure people you’re the kind who eats well.

The handles are leather too, riveted on by hardware that has clearly been informed it is the only thing standing between this bag and total structural collapse, and has taken the job very seriously.

The crossbody strap is cotton webbing and extends from 33” to 56”, which is either a very small range or a very large one depending on your height and how you feel about your shoulders that day. This flexibility is the strap’s entire personality. It has no other opinions.

Inside: one zipped pocket for the things you’d like to lose slowly, and divided slip pockets for the things you’d like to lose in an organized fashion. The back offers two more slip pockets, external and unzipped, for whatever didn’t seem worth the dignity of being hidden away.

The bag asks for nothing. It holds everything. This is, generally speaking, the most anyone can ask of an object — or of most people, for that matter.

Some bags reveal everything immediately.

This one prefers introductions.

From the outside, it is handcrafted from supple avocado green leather with clean lines, antique brass hardware, and a quiet confidence that suggests it has no interest in competing with neon handbags or sequins. It simply goes about its business looking effortlessly elegant while the louder bags exhaust themselves.

Then you open it.

Inside is a fully lined floral interior, like discovering that the most sensible person at the dinner party secretly grows peonies and listens to jazz.

You carry the green leather for everyone else.

You carry the floral lining for yourself.

It is generously sized for everyday life and the unexpected responsibilities that somehow become everyday life. A laptop, a favorite book, a wallet, sunglasses, and everything else you were certain you wouldn’t need all fit quite comfortably.

Organization has been given every opportunity to succeed.

Two exterior slip pockets on the front keep frequently used essentials within easy reach, while a zippered pocket on the back quietly guards the things you would rather not lose to gravity or distraction.

The top closes securely with a full-length zipper because confidence is admirable, but zippers have a better track record.

Inside, a leather-trimmed zip pocket and an additional slip pocket provide a proper home for smaller necessities, proving that optimism and organization continue to coexist despite considerable historical evidence to the contrary.

(SOLD) This bag began as a perfectly respectable collection of leather.

The chocolate leather intended to become a sensible everyday tote. The embossed turquoise panel had other ambitions. It preferred admiration, conversation, and possibly its own parking space.

They reached a compromise.

The result is a one-of-a-kind handmade tote that is elegant enough for work, relaxed enough for weekends, and organized enough to create the comforting illusion that the person carrying it has everything under control.

The front features two generous slip pockets for the things that refuse to wait: phone, sunglasses, shopping list, and that pen that somehow disappears whenever paperwork appears.

The back offers a secure zippered pocket for the items you would rather keep close, because optimism is a lovely quality but not generally considered a security system.

A full-length zipper closes the main compartment, where another zip pocket and an additional slip pocket continue the campaign for organization. They encourage order. They do not guarantee it. Nothing in life does.

The body is crafted from rich chocolate brown leather paired with an embossed turquoise and bronze floral panel that catches the light differently every time you look at it. It is bold without shouting, although it certainly clears its throat when entering a room.

The coordinating leather base is cut from a heavier hide, providing the structure that allows the bag to stand confidently on its own. Every family has someone willing to do the heavy lifting while everyone else receives compliments.

Two leather handles offer a comfortable hand carry, while the adjustable crossbody strap extends from 33” to 56”, making the bag equally happy with a linen dress, blue jeans, or a winter coat substantial enough to qualify as temporary housing.

Measuring 12” high, 10” wide, and 3” deep, with a generous 12” zipper opening, it easily accommodates a tablet, notebook, wallet, water bottle, cosmetics, and enough miscellaneous objects to convince strangers that you are remarkably prepared for anything.

Inside, a soft teal woven lining brings another unexpected layer of color. A bag, much like a house, should be pleasant on the inside as well as impressive from the street.

Every stitch is handmade. Every leather panel is individually selected. No two bags will ever be exactly alike.

The bag is structured enough to stand on its own, a quality many of us continue to pursue.

And although it will not make you more punctual, more productive, or more interesting, it will make losing your keys considerably more difficult, which is an achievement worthy of quiet celebration.

These pillows are no longer available.
Which is exactly why everyone suddenly wants them.

They were a custom order—made for someone decisive, clearly—and now they’re off living their best upholstered life somewhere else, probably being admired more than is strictly necessary. Three pillows, cut from richly patterned fabric that looks like it has opinions about history, geography, and possibly your color choices.

They didn’t match. They coordinated. There’s a difference. Matching is what happens when things are told what to do. These did what they wanted and happened to look fantastic together.

Deep reds that refuse to whisper. Blues that have seen things. Patterns that feel like they crossed borders without paperwork. You put them on a neutral sofa and the sofa immediately becomes less neutral about everything.

Now here’s the inconvenient truth: I can make more.
Not these—those are gone, committed, unavailable, possibly smug. But something very much like them. Same spirit. Same “where did you find these?” effect. Slightly different personality, because clones are unsettling and I don’t make them.

I did not plan to make pillows.

I restore antique furniture. I make bags. I had a system.

Then Italian leather got involved and, as usual, ignored the plan.

So now there are pillows.

Not the kind that collapse into themselves after a week and quietly give up on life. These hold their shape. Their dignity. Possibly a mild superiority complex.

They sit on a chair like they were invited.
They sit on a sofa like they own it.

The leather is soft but not delicate, structured but not stiff—exactly the kind of material that improves with time and develops the sort of character you can’t fake (no matter how many “distressed” labels try).

You don’t decorate with these.
You introduce them to a room and let them rearrange the mood.

Most are made as sets, because one pillow alone starts to look like a decision you’ll have to explain to guests.

Each one is cut, sewn, and finished by me—in between restoring pieces that have already survived a century and making bags that plan to.

This bag began its life as a perfectly respectable piece of mustard Italian pebble leather minding its own business. Then it encountered a panel of floral leather with a personality of its own, a row of brass grommets, and a maker (that would be me) who thought it might be fun to see what happens when good materials are given a little creative freedom.

The result is this one-of-a-kind bucket bag — structured enough to behave, expressive enough not to disappear quietly into the background.

The body is crafted from rich mustard Italian leather paired with a textured floral forget-me-not leather panel that politely refuses to be ignored. Brass grommets circle the top edge, guiding a black leather drawstring that gathers the bag closed with satisfying precision.

Inside, the bag is fully lined and thoughtfully organized with one slip pocket and one zippered pocket, because beautiful bags should also know how to keep things in order. A reinforced leather facing around the rim adds structure and durability where the drawstring does its daily work.

The 1.5″ wide shoulder strap sits comfortably on the shoulder and attaches with solid brass swivel clips. It can be unclipped if someone someday decides to experiment with another strap — though it seems quite content with the one it has. The bag can be carried comfortably on the shoulder or tucked neatly under the arm, exactly where a bucket bag prefers to travel.

And because a bag deserves at least one small moment of personality, this one carries leather leaf charms — a quiet reminder that practical objects don’t always have to take themselves too seriously.

No two bags will ever be exactly the same. That’s the advantage of handmade work. It has character.

Italian Pebble Leather Hobo Bag (Orange, Slouchy, Unapologetic)

Handmade by me, with full awareness of how many perfectly good bags already exist in the world, this one insisted on being born anyway. It’s a hobo-style bag—soft, slouchy, and spacious—made from Italian pebble leather that behaves beautifully and refuses to be stiff about anything.

The bag is unlined, not because I forgot, but because covering this leather would be rude. Inside, there is one pocket: singular, intentional, and just enough to convince you that organization was briefly discussed. Everything else is open space, designed to accept your daily essentials, your optimistic extras, and whatever you forgot you already packed.

At the top, two leather ties can be knotted to secure the bag—or at least to provide the comforting illusion of closure. This system works well for people who like freedom, flexibility, and living slightly on the edge.

It’s very much in vogue at the moment, though the bag is unaware of this and uninterested. It improves with use, softens over time, and develops character instead of rules.

Shipping: Free. Because charging extra to send you something you already paid for still feels like villain behavior, and I refuse to play that role.

This bag is made from Italian embossed leather that looks like it has already lived a full life and sees no reason to recap it for you. The floral texture is deep, wrinkled, and confidently irregular—because smooth perfection is for people who don’t use their bags.

The blue suede accents were added intentionally, mostly to keep the leather from becoming insufferable. Soft, unexpected, and slightly ironic, they interrupt the drama just enough to remind everyone that design can be serious without being solemn.

There is a leather handle for carrying by hand or over the shoulder when you feel competent, and an adjustable crossbody strap for when competence is delayed. Both are removable, because flexibility is a lifestyle choice.

A zipper pocket on the back keeps phone and keys where they belong—reachable without excavation. Inside, the bag fits a 13” laptop, iPad, Kindle, a real paper book (for moral support), a cosmetic pouch, chargers, and several items you insist are essential.

The interior is lined in plaid, which claims organization while quietly allowing chaos. Interior pockets exist. They try. The zipper works, which is not nothing.

Finished with a blue suede flower charm, serving no practical purpose whatsoever—and therefore absolutely necessary.
