My daughter is redecorating her room. Has a plant/nature theme. She requested a Mushroom for her desk. I was happy to make her one. Tried to leave the top a little more bowl shaped so it can look cool and also catch random small items or even hold some crystal. Also recently had a request for a pen...I don't have a mini lathe so I wasn't sure how well I would be able to turn one. But figured I would give it a test run. So this one will probably be turned into a crafty tool. But it definitely builds the confidence to turn a pen in the future.

While out fishing the other day I saw a bunch of cut up wood and uprooted trees. I knew that a lot of it was only visible because the water levels are so low right now. This root ball could have been covered in water for decades...it's now all dried out and probably bound for a fire pit or mulching. I wanted to see if I could keep it 'alive' for years to come. So the process began by throwing it in the bed of the truck and bringing it home. Could be used for any round(ish) object you want to display.

Also pictured is a bowl, just finished, ready for the show this weekend.

I recently made a judge's gavel for an amazing friend. I liked the gavel shape a lot...so I thought why not work the theme into a few of my toothpick holders....one of them was sentenced to the electric chair...but I think both turned out pretty cool. Also, had a small piece left over and made a handle for a seam ripper. I very much enjoyed taking a piece of scrap cut off from an old Yew Bush and making it into something people can use.

Maybe one day I'll make a gavel for a member of SCOTUS...🤷...😎

Something new on the menu...😏...Chopsticks!! They are an incredibly difficult turn to do...maybe just me or maybe my set up. Either way these will only be made for orders and not just for 'fun'. Lol
