We have the best news! We will be partnering with a PMHNP to provide in-house medication management!

More details to come as she finishes the credentialing process, but she’s amazing and has experience as a labor and delivery nurse, as well as providing maternal-child and family public health nursing as a nurse home visitor. We are thrilled to have her, and feel like her expertise and the in-house collaboration will serve our clients so well.

If you’re interested in getting on her waitlist, please reach out! [email protected] or 541-704-7511. 🌿

Clinician spotlight: Christine Miller, LCSW

Christine has been with Gathered & Wise for over three years, and we are so lucky to have her on our team! Christine has supported families in various settings for over 30 years, holding wisdom, compassion, and deep understanding for so many different life situations and experiences.

Christine particularly likes to work with people who have been impacted by trauma, those looking for support with parenting (dads, too!), and helping empower clients who struggle with self-worth.

Christine uses a blend of evidence based and trauma informed approaches, to include Accelerated Resolution Therapy (similar to EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as other mindfulness based and person centered approaches. She is warm and encouraging, and also will gently challenge her clients when their patterns aren’t serving their goals.

Christine has some room in her caseload and is now accepting new clients!

Dear dads,

She needs you. She needs you like she’s never needed you before. Birth is beautiful, and also it’s tremendously hard. Her placenta has left an open wound the size of a dinner plate in her uterus. Her body has been stretched, torn, and is full of hormones. She’s trying to figure out nursing and/or pumping, all while sleep deprived and with a crying newborn to care for.

This is not the time to prioritize work. This is not the time for you to level up in your video game, or to make plans with the guys. This is the time for you to show the mother of your child that you truly have her. Cook the meals. Notice when the kitchen is messy and clean it without her having to ask. Fill her water bottle, do the laundry, take the dog out. Please show her that you love and respect her by not just your words, but by your actions. You are capable of caretaking and being a true partner to the woman who just birthed your child. Your support can make or break her postpartum experience.

You are now a father. What a wonderful, beautiful thing. Be the diaper changer, car seat expert, the baby bath giver. Know your baby’s cries, which blanket they love and their favorite song. Show your baby what it means to be a strong, loving, caring man. You get to help write the story of your family: how happy you are, how close you are, how well you work as a team.

Postpartum is a short season in the story of your life, but it’s a chapter that she will never forget. Please be present, please be intentional. Please show up well. She needs you and your baby needs you. You don’t have to do it perfectly, and you don’t have to do it alone. You’re also going to need support. I just want you to know how much of a difference you can make.

Hi. How is everyone doing? Between the holidays, the normal upkeep of life, and the world being so heavy, it’s been a lot. 💛

Today I want to focus on the good, and share some incredible accomplishments from our team!

Joanna Crawford passed her licensing exam today! Shayla Archer recently passed both her licensing exam in addition to obtaining her perinatal mental health certification, and Christine Miller passed her licensing exam and completed all the requirements to become a fully licensed clinical social worker!

Congratulations to these three on their tremendous achievements!

For those that don’t know, the journey to become a fully licensed clinician is a long one. Check out the comments to learn more!
