Good design shouldn't complicate construction. It should make it easier. 🛠️✨

A successful renovation takes more than a beautiful design. It takes clear decisions, thoughtful planning, and coordination between everyone involved.

From cabinetry layouts and lighting placement to material selections and fixture specifications, the details matter long before construction begins.

At Joshua Allen Design, we work alongside builders, contractors, and developers to help streamline decisions, reduce last-minute questions, and keep projects moving forward.

Less guesswork. Better coordination. A shared vision.

We're currently welcoming new construction and renovation partnerships throughout Central Massachusetts and surrounding areas.

Builders and contractors, let's connect! We'd love to be your design partner on an upcoming project.

3 things every well-designed bathroom needs! 🛁✨

A beautiful bathroom is about more than choosing the perfect tile or vanity. It's about creating a space that works for your everyday routine while still feeling personal and inviting.

Here are 3 elements we believe every bathroom should have:

1. Thoughtful Lighting 💡
Good bathroom lighting goes beyond a single overhead fixture. Layering natural light, properly placed sconces, and ambient lighting helps create a space that's functional for getting ready in the morning while still feeling relaxing at the end of the day. Placement matters, too! Lighting beside a mirror, for example, can help reduce the shadows that overhead lighting often creates.

2. Storage That Makes Sense
A beautiful bathroom shouldn't mean sacrificing functionality. Custom vanities, concealed cabinetry, built-in shower niches, and designated storage for everyday essentials help keep countertops clear and everything within reach. The key is designing storage around how you actually use the space.

3. A Little Personality 🎨
Functional doesn't have to mean boring! Statement wallpaper, unexpected tile patterns, rich paint colors, or an interesting light fixture can give your bathroom character. Even the smallest design details can make a space feel uniquely yours.

The secret? Bringing all three together.

When lighting, storage, and personality are considered from the beginning, you get a bathroom that looks beautiful AND makes everyday life easier.

Planning a bathroom renovation? Let's create a space that works as beautifully as it looks.

Your renovation is complete… but does your space feel finished? 👀✨

The walls are painted, the floors are installed, and construction is officially behind you. But sometimes, a room still needs those final touches to truly feel like home.
That's where we come in! 🤎

From furniture and lighting to rugs, window treatments, and accessories, our interior decorating and furnishing services help bring everything together.

And it's about more than choosing beautiful pieces. We consider layout, scale, color, texture, and how you actually live in your space. Plus, we offer access to designer-sourced furnishings and unique pieces you won't typically find in big-box stores.

The renovation may be finished, but the design doesn't have to be.

Whether you've recently renovated, moved into a new home, or have a room that just doesn't feel complete, we're here to help!

Your home can feel like fall without covering every surface in pumpkins. 🍂

Some of our favorite seasonal changes are actually design changes: warmer lighting, richer textures, deeper colors, natural wood, vintage details, and creating those little spaces that make you want to stay awhile.

The goal isn't to completely redecorate your home every season. It's to work with what you already have and make a few thoughtful changes that shift how the space feels.

Which one are you adding to your home this fall?

Great kitchen design starts long before installation. ✨

Behind every finished kitchen are hundreds of decisions from cabinetry and countertops to lighting, hardware, fixtures, tile, and finishes.

Making those decisions early and documenting them clearly doesn’t just create a more cohesive kitchen. It can also mean fewer last-minute questions, less back-and-forth, and a smoother process on the job site.

That’s where a strong design partner makes a difference.
Joshua Allen Design is currently accepting builder, contractor, and overflow projects. Connect with us about your upcoming build.
