Heirloom Expressions

Heirloom Expressions Heirloom sewing incorporates various hand or sewing machine needlework techniques incorporating laces, narrow ribbons, insertions, or manufactured trims.

As I no longer have my business, Heirloom Expressions is a showing page of my creations and the creations of those needle and thread artists whose work I find inspiring. Hand embroidery such as whitework and cutwork, eyelets, or hemstitching is also typical of heirloom sewing. My items also incorporate decorative heirloom stitch and lace patterns in digitized machine embroidery as well as sewing m

achine decorative stitches. I am also partial to hand embroidered vintage design patterns and incorporate finished pieces in my heirloom projects. I am a member of the Embroiderer's Guild of America.

Love the design of this little needlecase. The picture is from today's Inspirations All Stitched Up newsletter. Think I will have to design a similar one to make for myself. Maybe with some Autumn leaves, although the pansies are nice, too.

Posted this on my personal page. Putting together some projects, embroidery and quilting, to work on when I return home for the local fairs next year. Plus, I am working on more thread painting projects I started earlier this year while I am on my 3 month vacation. Hope to finish the stitching while I am in Wisconsin.

Thank you all for your suggestions. The problem I had/have is someone threatening to shut down my site due to copywrite issues and hacking issues. I do not know if this is Facebook or a hacker type person(s). I DO NOT infringe on anyone's property and I try to always acknowledge the source of my information and images I post making sure the creator or artist is known. I have no employees or outside firms helping me manage the administrative/marketing side of my business. As such, I am strictly local and word of mouth. When Facebook switched to Meta with all their bells and whistles, I lost interest in trying to figure everything out. The 15 years or so I took care of my husband as he went through dementia did not leave much time for continuing education in the embroidery/quilting arts. The simple embroideries were my lifeline. Now that he has passed, I am focused more on learning the fundamentals of art and taking more courses in various embroidery techniques and artistic quilting. I also want to focus on heirloom sewing again. I think developing a website would be more suitable as I go forward.

Thank you again, for your understanding and generosity in sharing information. Janice

Dear friends, in the coming months I will be engaging in decluttering and restructuring as I travel down the single life. I have been toying with the idea of creating a personal website to encompass what I do with my embroidery and quilting endeavors for quite some time and need less mental interruptions. I will keep my personal Facebook account open to have access to the local pages, but will not be posting much. My Heirloom Expressions page and Jan's Embroidery Studio page will be deactivated and eventually deleted. There are simply too many ads and junk stuff being advertised and posted that are not pertinent to my lifestyle anymore. Hoping you understand.

‘As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence actually liberates others.’

Love the little quotes I find in my "Inspirations All Stitched Up" newsletter. The image is from the latest newsletter and I found it to be a colorful, happy bit of bead embroidery. To quote from the article: "Christmas Cheer by Katherine Diuguid is a sparkling Christmas tree ornament that has been embellished with metal thread, beads and crystals to really make a jolly good festive tree statement."
