Pumpkin Pie Twists

Ingredients:

1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry, thawed
½ cup pumpkin puree
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Powdered sugar or vanilla glaze, optional

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon until smooth.
Roll out the puff pastry and spread the pumpkin mixture evenly over one half.
Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and gently press it together.
Cut the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide.
Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the twists with beaten egg.
Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the tops.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
Let them cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with vanilla glaze if desired.
