Kirtz® customers can choose from 18 stock colors or custom paints and stains. Our experts will finish each and every shutter to your specifications. Kirtz® Shutters are typically made of maple because of its superiority in strength and resistance to indentation. We have customers who still have the original shutters from decades ago in their homes. However, we can make interior shutters from other hardwoods such as red or white oak (rift-, quarter- and plain sawn), walnut, beetle kill pine, alder, knotty alder, ash, cherry, knotty pine, mahogany, and many others. Kirtz® shutters are carefully crafted to accentuate the individuality of your home. We use only hardwood and the best paints and stains for durability. The stiles on our shutters are strong and warp-resistant. Thanks to the use of Old World Joinery, a Kirtz® Shutter can never come apart. The elliptical louvers provide superior temperature and light control. The sculptured tiltrod has a substantial feel and works without fail. Our tensioning system ensures that the shutter looks good, no matter how often you open and close the louvers. Kirtz® Shutters crafts shutters with moveable or fixed louvers, no matter the shape the opening.

A live-edge table looks different at 7am than it does at 7pm, and that is kind of the point.

Morning light pulls out every color hiding in the grain, warm amber next to deep, almost black streaks, all visible at once. By evening, under a warm pendant light, that same table reads much darker overall, with just the live edge catching the glow. Same piece of wood, two completely different rooms depending on the hour.

That is part of what makes a single-tree slab worth the wait. It is not just furniture sitting in a room. It shifts with the room across the day.

The shutters do their own version of that shift, open and letting fall color pour in during breakfast, closed and diffusing a warm glow once the sun goes down.

A free in-home consultation is where we talk through what a piece like this could look like in your space, morning and night.

Before the paint goes on, let's see exactly what is underneath it.

This is what shutter panels look like straight off the bench, before a drop of paint touches them. The arched top panel and the elongated sunburst are both solid maple, shaped and cut piece by piece. No MDF, no composite hiding under the finish later.

The sunburst shape is trickier to build than a standard shutter. Every louver is cut at its own angle to follow the curve, and the frame around it has to be shaped to match instead of built from straight stock.

Once paint goes on, none of this shows. It is still there underneath, holding the shape and doing the work.

A free in-home consultation is a good place to see shutters at different stages, paint and all.

A shutter with louvers that will not stay where you set them does not need to be replaced. It might just need a screwdriver.

Most louvers in a Kirtz shutter spin on simple plastic pins. But one louver in each panel is different. It has a small screw instead, built to be tightened or loosened by hand.

Turn that screw in, and the louver grips a little tighter.
Turn it out, and it swings a little looser.
That is what actually controls how snug the whole panel feels, not something locked in for good back at the factory.

So if a shutter has gotten loose after years of use, it is usually not a lost cause. Most of the time, it just needs a quick turn of a screwdriver.

A quick tip: ask to see this up close at your free in-home consultation, tightened and loosened, or on a shutter in the showroom.

A kitchen doesn't need marble everywhere to look finished. Sometimes a slab of real wood does more work than stone.

This fresh cabinet install includes a solid wood counter section we built ourselves, right here in our shop, with the same hands-on craftsmanship that goes into every piece we make. The natural grain and knots stay visible on purpose.

The cabinets themselves show up fully assembled and already painted, so there is no on-site assembly and no paint smell filling up the kitchen for a week. Real plywood construction, a hardwood face frame, and soft-close hinges and drawer guides on every door and drawer.

Design assistance is included, so picking finishes and layout happens before install day. Most installs are done start to finish in about one day.

A free in-home consultation is where we walk through what a kitchen or bathroom vanity update, wood counter included, could look like in your space.

Restaurants and hotels put their patio screens through a lot more than a quiet evening at home ever will, and these are the exact same screens we install for everyone.

Lower the mesh and the space turns into a real outdoor room instead of just a covered patio. It blocks up to 95% of UV rays, cuts glare, and keeps the bugs out while the fall color out back stays completely visible right through the screen.

Everything runs on a Somfy motor built for the kind of daily use restaurants and hotels put it through, not the occasional up-and-down a patio umbrella gets.

Kirtz is still the only authorized Titan Screen dealer in Oklahoma and South Kansas, so it is not something you will find waiting on a shelf at a big box store.

A free in-home consultation is where we measure the space and talk through what a screened patio actually looks like for you.

This console table wears its finish rough on purpose. That worn, distressed paint line along the top edge isn't something we added after the fact. It's part of the piece, left alone instead of sanded smooth.

The base is a tapered trestle style, three slats running down each end instead of a single solid leg, joined with an exposed wood peg through the side post. That kind of joinery shows on purpose. Most furniture hides its connections behind a smooth panel. This one puts the construction on display as part of the design.

It's not a live-edge piece, but the same idea holds: build around the material's real character instead of sanding it away.

A piece like this gets built once, matched to the space it's going into.

A free in-home consultation is where we talk through what a custom piece could look like in your home.

A retail patio, covered walkway, or a west-facing storefront window all share the same problem: too much sun, and no good way to manage it without losing the view.

Titan Screen retractable screens lower to cut glare, wind, and heat gain, then retract fully out of sight when the weather's already working in your favor. Along a patio or walkway, that keeps outdoor seating and covered entries usable through more of the year. Over a large display window, mounted either outside on the glass or inside the space, a lowered screen keeps afternoon sun from turning the retail floor into a greenhouse, without a permanent film covering the storefront.

The mesh blocks up to 95% of UV rays, which matters for merchandise and plants sitting in direct sun for hours at a time, and spans reach up to 21 feet wide with no center support blocking sightlines. Everything runs on Somfy motors built for repeated daily use, not occasional deployment.

Kirtz Shutters is the exclusive authorized Titan Screen dealer for Oklahoma and South Kansas, working directly with retail owners and property managers on measurement, engineering, and installation. Learn more at kirtz.com.

A tilt rod down the middle of your shutter panel isn't a flaw. It's just one of two ways to operate the louvers, and both options are available on every Kirtz shutter.

Front-tilt keeps a single wood rod running down the face of the panel, finished to match your stain or paint so it blends into the louvers instead of standing out. It's the classic look most people picture when they think of plantation shutters.

Full-view tilt hides that rod completely. Instead of running down the front, the mechanism sits on the back of the panel, tucked inside the stile, so the louver faces stay clean with nothing crossing them. You get the same tilt control, just without a visible rod at all.

Either way, the rod itself is always solid wood finished to match your shutter, never a metal bar bolted on. Which one looks better usually comes down to your view and how much you want the hardware to disappear.

A quick tip: ask to see both front-tilt and full-view side by side before you decide. The difference is small on paper but easy to spot once you're standing in front of both.

A free in-home consultation is where you get that side-by-side look, in your own room.

Most shades give you two choices: let light in or block it out.

Silhouette shades give you a setting in between that actually looks good.

Fabric vanes float between two sheer fabric panels, and you can tilt them open, closed, or anywhere in between. Tilt them open and light comes through soft and diffused, with no hot glare and no harsh lines on the floor. Tilt them closed and the room goes private without going dark and flat.

There's no visible hardware crossing the window when they're open, either. Just the sheer panels and the floating vanes, so the window still feels like a window instead of getting boxed in by a shade.

Hunter Douglas builds each one to your window's exact measurements, so the vanes tilt evenly across the whole width, not just in the middle.

A free in-home consultation is the easiest way to see how the light changes as the vanes tilt, right in your own room.

This elongated sunburst shutter is finished and ready to install. No filters, no staging. Just the panel itself, straight off the bench.

Every louver in this fan opens independently, except for the two in the corners, which are glued in place.

That's more parts to fit, more angles to get right, and more hands-on time than a standard shutter takes. A lot of shops won't quote a shape like this at all.

This one's headed out in the cream finish you see here, but elongated sunbursts, rake shutters, ovals, and arches all get built the same way: shape by shape, not off a template.

If you've got a window that doesn't fit the standard mold, a free in-home consultation is where we figure out what shape it actually needs.
