Studio Sunday and have been enamored with the color of water in a bunch of photos and sketches from kayaking around Vinalhaven a few years back while visiting our friends Kitty and Matt. A 12”x12” now and so nice to scale up a little bit to play more with brush and color 🎨 πŸͺ¨ 🌊 🌲

Studio Friday and although this year has been a struggle in the health dept. I have been painting to keep my spirits up. Being out in nature has always been my best medicine so this will suffice until I can be out in it for real-sy. 🌲 πŸ’¨ 🌊 Lots of smaller studies in the works so I can hit the wood shop and make some shaped panel magic, when my body is able.

NOT in the studio THIS Tuesday and yes I have not posted much recently, but a busy January-February getting my β™₯️ back in line πŸ’“ and if all goes well in 7-8 months will complete the second procedure and be back to β€œnormal”, πŸ’ͺ a new normal. Anyhow, a great way to pass the time and not forget where I was in the studio last year has involved Allegra and I hanging a few pieces in the house to live with for while. Now, not many have a 17+ foot wall for that dang Bulwark (Schoodic) I painted for last summer but we snuck the center panel into the entry to live with for a bit on the newly painted walls πŸ˜‰. Interesting to see the triptych broken up πŸ€” .

A quick flashback to three years ago and the completion of the mural at Pascal Hall in Rockport, Maine. Always grateful to a fabulous collaboration with a great client and visionary designer as we made this happen during the year of 2022. Trompe l’oeil paneling and frame painted the β€œstage” for the 16’ x 31’ mural depicting nine historic events since Pascal Hall was originally built as a Baptist Church in the 1850s. A big thanks to just down Route 1 in Rockland for the endless NC Wyeth inspiration for my final composition of these events. Though not totally open to the public yet if you are interested in experiencing the mural I can often arrange a visit with some notice.
