A blast from the past: fun to read once again.

ℐ𝓉’𝓈 𝓉𝒾𝓂ℯ 𝓉ℴ 𝒿𝓊𝓃𝓀.

Recently a group of ladies who came into JR (Junk Rescued) started talking. Me, the shopkeeper for the day, asked, "What do you love about junking?" They replied with various answers.

* You never know what you'll find. Each glance offers a new opportunity to uncover a treasure. Yes, it's one-big-treasure hunt.

* I've been dreaming about a piece of furniture/decor but you know, "It's too much!" But then I can find something I like just as much at JR.

* Maybe I don't want anything cookie-cutter and I want a piece that reminds me of my Mother-Grandmother. Especially since she's no longer with me.

* I collect _____. Everyone can fill in the blank. Well, a few of my friends can.

* Who doesn't love a bargain?!

* It's just fun to look, even if I don't buy. Let's wander around JR this week. 🙂

There's just so many reasons to shop (or just visit us) at JR. We still have a few "on-sale," items as we slowly transition to Fall. Please stop in. You'll be glad you did.

𝓢𝓹𝓸𝓽𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓸𝓷 𝓞𝓷𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓼 ~ 𝓓𝓮𝓫 𝓗𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓻𝓲𝓴𝓼.

I LOVE that hunt for an old piece of furniture or any vintage item with a history that needs a new life. I LOVE being a small part of bringing new life to that old, rusty, broken, worn out item. It also intrigues me to think about its history and who else gave it the same love in the past. Upcycling and giving things a new purpose gives me joy.

The love of the “old “started with my Dad. When I was growing up he loved going to flea markets and auctions. I grew up watching him and the appreciation he had for antiques. That love for antiques and anything old rubbed off on me and I have great memories of going to garage sales and auctions with him.

I really enjoy mixing vintage with the new in my own home. Filling my home with things I love and that have a history adds so much charm and warmth . Starting “Junk Rescued“ is a dream come true for me, and sharing that with my sister, Sue, makes it even more special.

I love all that are part of our small business and everyone’s support and friendship.
