Clean slate? You don’t have to.
Renovations don’t necessarily mean getting rid of everything and starting with a clean slate. Everyone has a budget. And sometimes the bigger part of the budget is more worth investing in the spaces you spend more time and entertain in, like Kitchens and Living rooms.
In this project, our Client wanted moody and cozy, so we transformed the room by replacing the pendant light with something more proportionate that drew your eye up. We chose a deep taupe paint color and added picture molding on the headboard wall to give it depth. Beyond the fixed architectural details were updates to furnishings. This included a new area rug, wider more proportionate bed bench, dresser mirror that didn’t match the dresser, and bedding. For a final detail, we kept the wood blinds but replaced the drapery and rod with antique brass rod to complement the chandelier and mirror detail, and chose a taupe velvet blackout fabric for the drapery so the room could be bright or completely dark.
