I buy from a distributor. They were MRI out of Norwalk, CT. They were bought by SnapAV out of Georgia and now they are owned by ADI Global. So, I've known them as a small mom and pop operation through a mid size corporation. to now a huge corporation.
I needed to buy an outdoor projection screen for a customer. I found the screen on their site for a certain price. A week later, after the screen didn't show up I was told there was $219 shipping in addition to the price they gave me.
At this point, I had already bought the other equipment, including an outdoor box from China to house the projector and keep it safe from the elements.
So, I said, OK I'll pay the shipping.
About 10 days later, the screen comes. Damaged.
I called the distributor and we went back and forth for about a week and I was finally told that the company wouldn't replace the screen, but would send me the damaged pieces and that would solve the problem.
So, this morning I called Elite Screens directly and asked them if they thought replacing the damaged endcaps would fix the problem with the screen (it won't stay down) and the guy said it wasn't likely.
But, they would be more than happy to replace the screen!
I have a feeling ADI never even bothered to call Elite screens, because if a guy who buys one or two screens a year can call and get a replacement, a huge company like ADI would have had that replacement instantly.
Anyway, the moral of the story is fact check everything. Then check it again.

People sometimes ask me how much it would cost to install a Frame TV?
It depends.
Frame TVs come with a separate input device called a One Connect. This is a box that 1) doesn't fit behind the TV, and 2) comes with a connecting wire that is not permitted to run through the wall.
And of course, everyone wants the TV to be perfectly flat and centered on the wall.
Sometimes, we put a 16" x 16" box in the wall, and sometimes there's no room in the wall for the box.
Of course, everyone knows there's 16" between studs, except quite often there isn't. Now, you have a box that doesn't fit in the wall.
So, sometimes you have to modify it.
How long does all of this take?
Good question.
Also, the Frame TV comes with a mount. This mount is unusual in that it consists of two separate mounts that fit on either side of the back of the TV. The chances of those mounts lining up with studs are hugely against it. If you are hanging a 65" or 75" TV, it's a good idea to hit a stud. Since this TV uses two separate hanging brackets, you really have to hit two studs.
It's also nice to have an aftermarket mount that's only .55" deep in that case. Which we have.
One time, we hung a Frame TV on a wall with a staircase behind. No room for a box in that wall, so we installed a conduit in the wall and ran that into the basement. The conduit had to be 1 1/2" OD because the ends of the wire can not be disconnected from the wire.
I love these Frame TVs and I think they look really smart in any room. But they are a nightmare to hang.

This is not a commercial for Frontier.
That being said, I have used Frontier Fiber Gigabit Service for 2 years and I haven't had one minute of loss of service in all of that time.
I originally contracted for a year at $59 for a gigabit and after a year, they raised me to $89. I called them and they gave me an additional year for $45.
Before that I was using Optimum. Their 200 mbps was costing me $105. I asked for an upgrade to 500 mbps and they told me they would have to change the modem and router and my new bill would be $189.
Also,
This is not a commercial for Direct TV STREAM.
I tried Direct TV Stream for $120 a month. I found that I got almost all of the channels I got from Optimum, plus a lot of other channels. I also found that instead of 720p and 1080i, I was getting 1080p and 4K. I have been using Direct TV Stream now for 2 years and have not had any loss of service to to bad weather or any other cause.
When I had Optimum for triple play (cable, internet, phone) I was paying $385 per month.
Now I'm paying $165 per month. And for some reason, I don't miss Optimum at all.
Not a commercial.
Just the facts, Jack.

🚀 What’s the Deal with Wi-Fi 7? The Next-Gen Internet Explained
Imagine you're trying to watch your favorite show, play a game online, or submit homework (last minute, of course)—but your Wi-Fi is slower than a snail on vacation. Frustrating, right? Well, good news: Wi-Fi 7 is here to make that problem a thing of the past.

But what is Wi-Fi 7? And why should you care? Let’s break it down in a way that actually makes sense.

📡 What Even Is Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is how your phone, laptop, or gaming console connects to the internet without using wires. It’s like invisible magic that lets you watch YouTube, scroll TikTok, and play Fortnite from anywhere in your house.

Wi-Fi gets updated every few years with new versions—just like phones. These updates make it faster, smarter, and better at handling lots of devices at once.

🔥 So, What Makes Wi-Fi 7 So Cool?
Wi-Fi 7 is the latest version of Wi-Fi (after Wi-Fi 6 and 6E), and it's seriously powerful. Here’s what makes it awesome:

1. ⚡ Blazing Fast Speeds
Wi-Fi 7 is up to 4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6. That means quicker downloads, smoother streaming, and zero lag while gaming—even with other people hogging the internet.

2. 🎮 No More Lag in Games
Gamers, this one’s for you: Wi-Fi 7 cuts down on latency, which is the delay between pressing a button and seeing the result on screen. With lower latency, your reactions in games will be super sharp.

3. 📱 Better for Big Families (or Busy Homes)
Your house probably has tons of gadgets connected at once—phones, laptops, smart TVs, even fridges! Wi-Fi 7 can handle way more devices without slowing down.

4. 🚪 Uses a New Superhighway
Wi-Fi 7 adds more “lanes” to the wireless highway—meaning traffic jams (aka buffering) happen way less often.

🧠 How Does It Work?
Okay, quick nerd moment (we’ll keep it simple):

Wider Channels: Wi-Fi 7 uses 320 MHz channels (Wi-Fi 6 only used 160 MHz). Think of this like going from a two-lane road to a four-lane highway.

Multi-Link Operation: It can use multiple frequencies at once, switching lanes on the fly to dodge slow traffic.

Advanced Tech: Stuff like QAM 4096 (don’t worry about the name) helps cram more data into each signal.

Basically: smarter signals = better Wi-Fi.

🏠 Do I Need to Buy Anything?
Yes—but only if you want to use Wi-Fi 7’s full power. You’ll need:

A Wi-Fi 7 router (they’re starting to come out now)

Devices that support Wi-Fi 7 (these are just starting to launch—like new laptops and phones)

But don’t stress! Wi-Fi 7 routers also work with older devices. So upgrading your router could still improve your whole home network.

🧐 Why Should High Schoolers Care?
Whether you’re:

Streaming music during homework

Downloading games or apps

Competing in esports

Studying online

Or just scrolling memes...

Wi-Fi 7 can make all of that faster, smoother, and more reliable.

It’s like upgrading from a go-kart to a sports car on the internet highway.

💡 Final Thoughts
Wi-Fi 7 isn’t just for tech geeks—it’s for anyone who wants better internet. As more devices and apps demand speed and stability, having a strong Wi-Fi connection is becoming just as important as having a good phone or laptop.

So the next time your internet glitches out mid-video, just remember: Wi-Fi 7 is coming to save the day.

Absolutely! Here’s a clear, engaging article on the benefits of Wi-Fi 7 written for a general audience with average tech knowledge—no confusing jargon, just the useful stuff:

🌐 What Are the Real Benefits of Wi-Fi 7?
We all rely on Wi-Fi—for work, for streaming, for scrolling, and for staying connected. But if your internet has ever felt slow, glitchy, or crowded, you’re not alone. That’s exactly the kind of thing Wi-Fi 7 is designed to fix.

Whether you’re a casual internet user, a remote worker, a Netflix binge-watcher, or someone with a smart home, Wi-Fi 7 brings real improvements that make everyday life easier. Let’s break down what makes it different—and better.

⚡ 1. It’s Much, Much Faster
Wi-Fi 7 can deliver speeds up to 4x faster than Wi-Fi 6—and much more compared to older versions. That means:

Downloading large files in seconds, not minutes

Seamless 4K (or even 8K) video streaming

Smoother online gaming with no lag

No more waiting for apps or websites to load

Even if you’re not a “tech person,” faster internet just makes life more convenient.

📱 2. It Handles More Devices at Once
Most homes today have dozens of devices connected at the same time—phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, security cameras, and more. Wi-Fi 7 is built to handle a lot more connections without slowing down.

So whether you live in a busy household, work from home, or run a smart home setup, Wi-Fi 7 keeps everything running smoothly—even during peak hours.

🚫 3. Less Lag, Fewer Drops
Wi-Fi 7 dramatically reduces latency—which is the delay between when you do something online and when it actually happens.

This is a game-changer for:

Video calls that don’t freeze or lag

Online games that react instantly

Smart devices that respond right away

Streaming without constant buffering

Bottom line: It makes your internet feel more responsive and reliable.

🚀 4. Smarter, More Efficient Connections
One of Wi-Fi 7’s superpowers is its ability to use multiple paths to send data. Imagine having a GPS that reroutes around traffic automatically—Wi-Fi 7 does that with internet traffic.

If one channel is crowded, it jumps to another, making your connection more stable and less likely to slow down, especially in busy environments like apartments or shared spaces.

🏠 5. It’s Future-Proof
As more apps and devices demand faster, stronger connections (think smart home tech, AR/VR, and AI assistants), older Wi-Fi networks will struggle to keep up.

Upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 now helps make sure your home is ready for what’s next—whether that’s tomorrow’s smart TV or your next laptop.

💡 Do I Need to Upgrade Right Now?
Not necessarily—but here’s the deal:

To use all of Wi-Fi 7’s features, you’ll need a Wi-Fi 7 router and devices that support it.

But even just upgrading your router can improve your whole network, especially if it’s more than a few years old.

New Wi-Fi 7 devices are already hitting the market in 2024 and 2025, so if you're planning to upgrade your internet setup soon, it's worth going for a future-ready router.

Worse hold music. I want to nominate M&T Bank. Their hold music is all at once a funeral dirge while making you wish you were the one in the box at the same time.

Wi-Fi 7 is here! And while there are a lot of choices, I use Eero for all of my installations. First of all, their products rarely need support. And, they are the only company with 7 days per week phone support and they are open til 8 pm during the week.
The dealer phone support is US based and the people answering the phone are not reading from a script and they know what they are talking about.
Wi-Fi 6 is still a great choice for a lot of people, but Wi-Fi 7 is a monster. If you really need great internet for your home business or just your home, consider Eero. And have it professionaly installed.

Eero 7: Indoor and Outdoor.
I just installed my first Eero 7 indoor and it's at my house. The problem with the Wi-Fi Pro 6 E is the range. I have a small house, but it's old and there are thick walls and lots of metal and plaster which make it difficult to send Wi-Fi to every room. Adding a second Eero doesn't really help because of RF interference.
So, I'm living with a gigabit in the living room and about 25 mbs in a bedroom 2 rooms away.
I took out the Eero 6 and installed an Eero 7 and I have what seems to be a radioactive house!
I get a gig in the living room and about 500 in the bedroom I previously got 25 in.
Absolutely amazing!

Sonos Legacy owners. If you have an older version of Sonos products, like the Connect Amp or the Connect, Sonos will give you 20 to 30% off on new products. I don't know how long this program will go on, so if you have products from 2013 or so, keep in mind that these products don't last forever. 30% off is substantial.
