Vintage Nichols & Stone Black and Gold Stenciled Bowback Windsor Armchair

Up for sale is a beautiful mid-to-late 20th-century ebonized Windsor captain's chair, masterfully crafted by the historic Nichols & Stone Co. of Gardner, Massachusetts.
This classic New England piece features a graceful bowback frame with multi-spindle support, sculpted armrests, a deeply contoured saddle seat, and a sturdy H-stretcher base.
The chair retains its highly sought-after original black lacquer finish, beautifully accented by hand-painted gold pinstripe banding along the spindles and turned legs. The seat shows original factory-glued panel expansion seams, which are standard for the structural longevity of authentic solid hardwood Windsor seats.
Good vintage condition. Structurally sound, stable, and tight with no loose spindles or wobble. Minor cosmetic surface scuffs and age-appropriate finish wear that adds a wonderful, honest character to the piece.

Antique 19th Century American Country Boston Rocker - Original Paint & Patina

An authentic 19th-century American country Boston Rocker / spindle-back rocking chair. This classic farmhouse statement piece features a wide, contoured single-slab wooden saddle seat, a multi-spindle backrest, and gently curved, scrolled armrests.
The underside showcases early handcrafted framing details, clean pocket joints, and the original reddish-brown wash coating. The exterior boasts an exceptional, heavily distressed timeworn patina with layered black and dark-red paint flakes, presenting an unbeatable primitive or rustic look. Structurally solid, intact, and ready to bring a piece of historical charm into a living room, nursery, or porch.
Good antique condition with substantial and desirable paint loss, surface abrasions, and finish weathering consistent with age and decades of use. Frame and base are tight, sturdy, and fully functional.
