Long post ahead, but please hear me out. ❤️
When I started my little wreath business in 2019, I had no idea where I was going with it.
I grew up with a Mom who was an artist and a self-taught floral designer. I would sit in the background (often in the kitchen) and watch her put together and create these beautiful arrangements and pieces of art. Often times, she would talk about what she was doing and would point out the rules in floral design. I was all ears and loved learning from her. Her dream was ultimately to own her very own little floral shop, filled with her creations and visions brought to life.
Fast forward to 2026 and here I am, with my own little business now inside of a major mall.
If you would’ve asked the younger me watching my Mom in the kitchen if I’d ever have the opportunity that I have now, I would not have believed it. Heck, I wouldn’t have believed it back in 2019 when I made my first custom wreath. But here I am. I feel so very grateful to have this opportunity, but I would be lying if I would say this has been easy.
I am used to the custom order side of things. A customer has a vision, or shares a picture they find on Pinterest and I create it- (with a “Melissa twist,” of course.) The retail side of things is a very, very different story. I am constantly trying to think of things that you would want to buy and at a reasonable cost for both you and I.
It can be very challenging and feels like a hit or miss experience at times.
I’m also aware that times are tough for many of us right now. Everything is so expensive and I know the last thing on everyone’s brain is to buy or order a wreath or floral arrangement- but I CAN’T STOP CREATING!!! It’s in my blood- maybe my genetics, all things considered.
This is why my small floral business is going to pivot a bit. I will still be offering my wreaths and floral arrangements, but I am also coming up with several other items that are perhaps more affordable options and also something you could realistically see in your home.
I am asking all of you, if you stayed with me to read all of this, what are some items you would love to see me create and that could be available for purchase at Blended. (I will also still be taking custom orders as well- that will NEVER change!)
Here is what I created today and will be in store soon! My shop is all about the floral side of things- but that isn’t limited to a wreath or a bouquet! The possibilities are virtually endless, but I wouldn’t and won’t be much without YOU.
Please remember to support your local small businesses. We put our heart and soul into what we create and sell. You won’t be able to find what I make on Amazon, I promise you that.
I’m looking toward to hearing some feedback! At the end of the day, I’m still that little girl who has the same goals that my Mom once did. So I shall keep creating and putting my ideas out there. Thank you all for the support, it means so very much to me!
Here is the newest product and expect many more to come!
