The secret weapon for glowy makeup after 50? It goes on BEFORE anything else ✨

I took a masterclass at Nordstrom with makeup artist Erica Taylor and OGEE, and she started with one step I’d never thought to do: jojoba oil first. It preps your skin so everything after it glides on and glows instead of settling into lines.

At 60, I’m still learning, and I’m bringing YOU along! 💕💄
Yesterday I attended an exclusive OGEE workshop at Nordstrom with makeup artist and author Erica Taylor Erica Taylor, and I was grateful for the chance to learn from a true professional! She applied the products live and explained each step as she went. Seeing it done in real time made everything click! ✨
And let me tell you, Erica is just as kind and genuine in person as she is online. She took the time to answer every question and made us all feel so welcome. 💗
My favorite takeaway: our skin needs oil as we age! Erica prepped with the Ogee Hydraganics Jojoba Glow Face Oil, and when your skincare and makeup are made to work together, you get a smooth, flawless finish instead of makeup that sits on top of dry skin.

I heard that one a LOT after 31 years in the classroom. Everyone pictured me walking off into the sunset with nothing to do.

Well… I do walk into the sunset sometimes. 🌅 But in between, there’s makeovers, girls’ nights, travel, concerts, and creating content for all of you. 💕

Retired from teaching. Never been busier.

Retirement isn’t the end of the story. It’s a brand-new chapter, and I’m writing it my way.

Pro-Age Problem: Thinning Hair 💁‍♀️

I have thinning hair, and this is how I hide it.

When cut my hair for the Make Me Over Maria show on , she gifted me the Calista Embellish Root Touch Up Powder. It deposits tiny fibers right at the roots, so my hair looks thicker and you can’t see my scalp.

✨ My trick: I use two shades, Ash Blonde and Light Blonde, and I mix and match them so it blends naturally with my color.
