Thursday Devotional — Good Things Are Still Ahead

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3

Thursday is a good day to remember just how far God has already brought us. We can become so focused on what still needs to be done that we forget to look behind us and recognize the prayers He has answered, the doors He has opened, and the strength He has given us along the way.

There will always be another task waiting and another challenge around the corner, but there are also beautiful things happening right in the middle of ordinary life. God is working in places we can see—and in places we cannot see yet.

So today, celebrate the progress. Be thankful for the small victories. Enjoy the people God has placed in your path. And don’t let tomorrow’s worries steal today’s joy.

You may not know exactly what the next chapter holds, but you can move forward with confidence knowing that the same God who has carried you this far is already there.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for all the ways You have blessed and guided me. Help me recognize Your goodness in the ordinary moments today. Give me a joyful heart, a grateful spirit, and confidence as I move forward. Remind me that You are still working and that there are good things yet to come. Amen.

Thursday reminder: Take a moment today to look back and thank God for how far you’ve come.This scripture would also work beautifully on your country-church chalkboard with the maple leaves just beginning to turn.

Wednesday Devotional: Peace in the Middle of the Week

Scripture: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Wednesday often finds us somewhere between what we have accomplished and what still needs to be done. Our minds can become crowded with responsibilities, worries, and the endless little things demanding our attention. Yet God offers a peace that does not depend on having an empty schedule or a perfectly ordered life.

Isaiah reminds us that peace comes from keeping our minds fixed on the Lord. When our thoughts begin to wander toward worry, we can turn them back to His faithfulness. We may not know how every situation will unfold, but we can trust the One who holds tomorrow. His peace steadies us, even when the day itself is anything but quiet.

Today, give God the concerns that have been occupying your mind. Do your work with a grateful heart, take each task as it comes, and remember that His presence is with you in the ordinary moments as well as the difficult ones.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the peace You give to those who trust in You. Quiet my anxious thoughts and help me keep my mind focused on Your goodness. Guide me through this Wednesday with patience, wisdom, and a grateful heart. May Your presence be my strength and Your peace be my comfort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tuesday Devotional: Grace for Today

Scripture: “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)

This Tuesday, may we be reminded that God’s grace is not something we have to earn, and it is not reserved for the days when we have everything together. Grace meets us in the middle of our unfinished work, our weary hearts, and the moments when we feel we have little left to give. It is God’s loving provision, freely offered, carrying us when our own strength falls short.

Sometimes we believe we must be stronger, do more, or have all the answers before we can rest in God’s goodness. Yet the Lord tells us that His grace is sufficient. Not merely enough for the easy days, but enough for the difficult ones, too. His strength shines most beautifully when we acknowledge our need for Him. We do not have to face every challenge in our own power; we can lean on the One whose mercy is new every morning.

As you go about this Tuesday, extend the same grace to others that God so generously extends to you. Offer patience where there is frustration, kindness where there is weariness, and forgiveness where there has been hurt. And remember to receive that grace for yourself as well. You are invited to come to God just as you are, trusting that His love is more than sufficient for today.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your grace. Help me to stop relying solely on my own strength and to trust in Your sufficient love. Give me a heart that receives Your mercy and freely extends it to others. In moments of weakness, remind me that Your strength is made perfect. Guide my steps this Tuesday and let my life reflect Your kindness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tuesday Blessing: May grace meet you where you are, strengthen you for what lies ahead, and fill your heart with the peace of knowing that God is enough.

It’s Tuesday, September 8th, and Parsnippidy Junkin’Co is closed today. After all the excitement of our new chapter, we’re taking a little time to catch our breath, catch up on the never-ending to-do list, and possibly locate a few things we put in a “safe place” during the move. You know, the kind of safe place that may never be found again! 😂 The coffee is good, the maple leaves are beginning to turn, and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow.
