The secret is officially out, and frankly, we can’t keep our composure any longer.
​Today is the official opening of Parsnippidy Junkin' Co. Vintage Furniture and Home Decor. right across the street in the old MFA building. They are the new official caretakers of that incredible space, and while you can head over to their page or The Gray Wall page for the full origin story, we have more urgent business to discuss: free food and incredible vintage finds.
​Naturally, we sprinted across the street under the guise of "neighborly support" (and definitely not to hoard the best stuff first) to grab some photos for you. This place was already awesome, but they’ve managed to step it up big time. Prepare yourself—there is so much to see, and you will absolutely leave with a list of things you suddenly can't live without.
​Your Downtown Game Plan:
​Step 1: Get your boots down to W Main St.
​Step 2: Walk into Parsnippidy Junking Co. and head straight for the free snacks and refreshments.
​Step 3: Take a lap around the store to admire the goods while chewing.
​Step 4: Secure a second round of refreshments. (Pace yourselves, people. Consume responsibly.)
​Step 5: Stroll right on over to see us at Two Shabby Chicks LLC and then to The Glamorous Goat LLC to complete your downtown haul.

If you’ve ever visited one of the shops in downtown Sullivan, you’ll notice that we all work together. We are not just friends, but partners. These working relationships that we have with each other is what keeps our downtown alive.

With that being said, a small business in Salem, Mo recently lost their page due to circumstances beyond their control. I’ll give you the name in a minute, just bear with me. This locally owned business has made their way to Sullivan and has set up a booth in Parsnippidy Junkin' Co. Vintage Furniture and Home Decor. new store!! In the back, you will find Treasure Trove Flea Market!! Here’s a peek of what you’ll find, minus the stuff I’ve already claimed 😂! They also sell those 5 gallon buckets of laundry detergent and fabric softener! Their Google profile is alive and well so look them up, give them a boost while they work through getting their page back. You can visit their home base in Salem, or get a taste in Sullivan.

From small business owner to small business owner, work with those around you. Most of us have made more than just friends down here, we are a family.

Head downtown today and checkout Parsnippidy’s new digs! It’s their grand opening!! Just in case you were wondering, the upper level is now wheelchair accessible!!

In case you have not heard the news.

There are some days in the life of a business—and a building—that deserve to be remembered. Today is one of those days.

Today marks Carter West’s final day at the helm of this charming old MFA Feedstore. At the end of a very long day, the keys to this beautiful, history-filled building will officially be handed over to us.

Carter West, we simply cannot thank you enough.

Thank you for trusting us with a place that you have poured so many hours, so much hard work, and so much of yourself into. Thank you for seeing something in Parsnippidy Junkin’Co that made you believe we could be the next caretakers of this wonderful old building.

We know today will be bittersweet. Throughout the day there will be boxes carried out, memories stirred up, familiar corners looked at a little longer, and probably a few quiet moments when the magnitude of closing one chapter and beginning another really sinks in.

We see that. We respect it. And we are incredibly grateful to be trusted with what comes next.

Thankfully, this isn’t goodbye. Carter will still be part of this old feedstore, with two spacious booths of his own, so we aren’t letting him wander too far!

But tonight, when those keys change hands, something very special happens.

One chapter of the old MFA Feedstore closes…and the Parsnippidy chapter officially begins.

Carter, from all of us at Parsnippidy Junkin’Co, thank you for the trust, the hard work, the long hours, the laughs, the memories, and most of all, for handing us the keys to a place we already love so very much.

We’ll take good care of her.

​As always, new treasures are constantly coming through the door and finding homes almost as fast as they get put out. We just unpacked several boxes, three tubs, and a fresh round of furniture, and within minutes, items were already being snapped up!

Look, the sun is shining, downtown is practically overflowing with classic cars, and frankly, you need to get off your couch and get down here. Stop drooling over the pristine chrome on that '57 Chevy for five minutes and step inside the store. We need you to buy local today, because let’s be brutally honest: when was the last time a billionaire swooped in to sponsor a local Little League team, hand out free children's books, or fix a Sullivan pothole? Exactly. Never. Some tech mogul in a turtleneck isn't bringing you a casserole when you're sick, but our local vendors are out here actually donating portions of their hard-earned profits to organizations that keep this community breathing.
​When you shop local, your money stays right here in town instead of funding a billionaire's third luxury joyride to outer space. Support the people who actually live in your zip code, pay local taxes, and know your first name. We've got a store absolutely packed with vendors who do tremendous things for this area—and they brought in a massive haul of new treasures this week.
​Naturally, because our shoppers have shockingly excellent taste, half of this new inventory has already been adopted into its forever home. (Yes, we treat vintage decor and antique finds like rescue puppies, just go with it). If you wait too long, that perfectly distressed piece you’re going to obsess over later will already be sitting in your neighbor's living room, making them look vastly more stylish than you.
