Brunch after a brisk 1 mile walk. These pan roasted veggies are making their way to more meals than for last nights dinner.

All that's left to do now is plug up the jack-o'-lanterns. However, we might give them a faux paint makeover soon since they look a bit chipped and unkempt. I also need to finish the fall wreath and hang the fall garland on the mantle inside.

I'll take you along soon as we work on these projects and give you a little fall tour of the cottage.

Fall cooking is here at the cottage. This simple sheet pan of roasted vegetables is an easy, cozy side dish for crisp autumn days. Toss your favorite vegetables with olive oil and poultry seasoning, then roast at 425°F for 20–25 minutes, until tender and lightly caramelized.

It’s a roasted vegetable sheet pan kind of day at the cottage!

I’ll link my homemade poultry seasoning recipe in the comments below, it is the perfect cozy blend for simple cozy fall cooking.

Today’s pan is full of carrots, purple sweet potatoes, mushrooms, yellow and purple onions, acorn squash, broccoli, and fresh Brussels sprouts. I tossed everything with olive oil and my poultry seasoning blend, then roasted it until tender and golden around the edges.

The whole cottage smells absolutely incredible. I can hardly believe such a cozy, comforting fall meal can come from one simple pan of vegetables.

It is still a smoldering 88° outside here on the Gulf Coast, with a high of 91° that feels closer to 100°, so our fall season may be mostly imaginary. But inside the cottage, I am fully embracing it.

There is just something about September and all the “ber” months that makes me crave simple, cozy recipes like this.

Today, I want to share a little piece of wisdom, both for myself and hopefully for others who might be struggling with unfinished projects.

Think of completing a to-do list like an artist completing a masterpiece, it’s not finished in one sitting.

It's done one gentle brushstroke at a time.

Sometimes, stepping away from the work allows us to reflect, preserve our energy, and open up new possibilities that rushing might cause us to miss.

Patience and kindness with ourselves can make all the difference.

Just one brushstroke at a time.

What tasks are you still working on?

Mine include drafting blog posts, SEO, writing, photography, and decorating my home, which is still sitting on my living room floor as I write this. I also need to fully clean out my craft room and office, organize my pantry before fall baking begins, and make space for all the canned goods I plan to put up for the season. The list goes on, but I remind myself.

We’ve got this together!

Also, I think I’m slowly learning that the masterpiece isn’t something waiting for us at the end, either. There’s so much life in the making of it.
