✨ Well… this is one of those stories you just can’t make up! ✨
Back in June, my husband got a job offer in Louisiana. As we started planning our big move from North Carolina to Louisiana, I was so excited about taking my little vintage business, The Velvet Attic, along with me and starting a whole new chapter.
Then I discovered something that stopped me in my tracks…
There is already a Velvet Attic Vintage in Louisiana! 😳😂
I literally thought, “You have GOT to be kidding me!”
The funny part? I had absolutely no idea they existed. I chose the name The Velvet Attic long before I ever knew I would be moving to Louisiana and certainly long before I knew there was another vintage business there with the same name.
What are the chances?! 🤯
So, rather than arriving in Louisiana with a name that could cause confusion, I decided to take this crazy coincidence as another positive sign that it was time for a fresh start, a new chapter, and a brand-new name.
And so…

Same creative spirit.
Same love for vintage treasures.
Same obsession with beautiful, unusual, one-of-a-kind finds.
Same handmade pieces, repurposed treasures, sewing projects, art, décor and all the wonderfully unexpected things I love to create.
Just a new name for a brand-new Louisiana adventure. ⚜️
And honestly, I kind of love the story behind it.
Because if moving halfway across the country taught me anything, it’s that sometimes God has a funny way of nudging you in a completely unexpected direction.
So here’s to CLUTCH VELVET — a little vintage, a little handmade, a little edgy, and a whole lot of me. 🖤
