What does “basic floor prep included” actually mean?

With 1UP, it means one pass of floor patch to smooth the existing surface before the new flooring goes in.

Sometimes the old floor reveals something more—loose vinyl, multiple layers, or a damaged subfloor. If that happens, we’ll explain what needs attention and get approval for additional prep.

The goal is simple: you should know what’s happening in your unit and why.

The flooring itself is only one part of a unit turn. The harder part is often coordinating the estimate, approval, access, and install date without losing time along the way.

That’s why we want you to know what’s included, what needs a decision, and who to contact if plans change.

A flooring price is more useful when you know what’s in it.

Our pricing includes materials and installation, new metal transitions, appliance and toilet R&R, same-level base, and one pass of floor patch to smooth the surface beneath the new flooring. We also clean up our mess after the work.

If a unit needs more floor prep than that, we’ll explain what we found and what it would cost before moving forward.
