Studio Francine Studio Francine is a clay and wood studio based in Sunnyvale, California. We create thoughtfully designed ceramics and wooden goods for everyday living.

Everything is handmade in our home studio 💞 We also teach woodcarving workshops! Everything is made by Laura Lefevre and Vincent Renkens, the duo behind Studio Francine. We discovered clay and woodturning in 2023 and instantly fell in love. There’s something truly magical about learning a new skill and creating with your hands. We’d love to share our work with you—and if you’re curious to try it yourself, join one of our woodcarving workshops to learn a new skill and make something of your own!

Flying Broom || 2026

This hanging sculpture is an exploration of what a broom is and how ubiquitous domestic tools can be put to the forefront of our attention. Brooms are specifically intriguing to me because of their link with domestic labor and women’s history. During the process of tying the fibers and thinking about composition, I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone and dived into the meaning of function and beauty. The smallest of the three. Turned from green cherry wood grown in Maine. The outside has a subtle texture and I painted it with black milk paint (finally got over my ick of adding milk to anything 😅). Definitely inspired by a pottery piece I made a while ago (swipe to see).
