In the Pacific Northwest the indigenous people have a legend of the basket lady. Who snatches children who are misbehaving and eats them for supper.

A reminder to always listen to your relatives, being a good relative, not just for holidays. All the time.

This series is inspired by the legends of Sasquatch and the Basket lady. This series is 1 of 4 and our final series.

Basket lady: Black and brown over spun skirt, with real elk teeth and abalone buttons. Necklace and earrings created by Shereena Edwards. Western red cedar woven mask.

Sasquatch: Browns, Green and white wool sash and cedar woven headband. Chevron design.

Friday, May 10th and Saturday May 11th we will be teaching wool headbands and wool rattle/small bag weaving at the Hazel Pete Weavers Conference at Great Wolf Lodge. Come join us and learn from us and the many talented weaving instructors.

The Hazel Pete Institute of Chehalis Basketry does a fantastic job putting on this conference. We are honored they asked us back for their annual conference.

25” relaxed width and can stretch up to 28” but there is a longer tie. It fit my 5 year old daughter and my 8 year old boy but the length is 21” so it was just passed the knees on my son.

Skirt is over spun with Fisherman white and Hunter Green that has a little shimmer to it. Large mother of pearl button with copper beads
