Furniture Flip Alert! 🛠️
Over the last few weeks my Dad and I spent time together transforming these chairs that were given to me to flip. These chairs have a neat metal mechanism that rotates and can change heights, but they were in rough condition!
Dad and I made a plan by looking at all the pieces separately. It was looking like we could get about two good chairs out of the bunch, but then we started thinking about, what if we didn't use the spindle parts? ... So we did a test chair! We mocked up a stencil and cut out rounded square seats from the original chairs. Once we had the seats cut we sanded them and used a router to make softened edges that matched up with the rounded corners.
Dad stabilized the bases with glue and nails to help with the structural integrity and to square up the legs so they didn't wobble.
Next I took the pieces home and filled the holes on the bottom of the seats with stainable wood filler and got to staining. I played mixologist to get them as close as I could with mismatched legs and tops - mixing Dark Walnut stain with Ipswich Pine.
Then we went back to the shop to use the drill press for pilot holes and then attached the bases to the seats.
Final steps were to go to Ace to get a thumbscrew that was missing from one of the chairs, and then touch up the stain.
Such a fun project and I am really happy with the results. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Furniture Flip Alert! 🛠️✨
This was my first major furniture flip back in 2022—and let me tell you, it was a wild ride! 🪑🔥

The design? Something I couldn’t find online. So, I rolled up my sleeves and created the process from scratch! 🤯 My vision didn’t exist elsewhere, so I used a custom vinyl stencil made on a silhouette machine to craft a Celtic knot pattern that weaves across the table’s surface. The challenge? Making sure the design stayed cohesive even when the leaf was removed. Talk about a puzzle! 🧩

The transformation began with stripping the 1980s-era orange stain and lacquer.
After practing my techniques layering stains: dark walnut, kona, and light ipswich for depth. I utilized pryo gel to burn in a design and then carfully applied stain to acheive a beautiful combination of tones.
Finished with high-gloss polyurethane for that showstopper sheen.
The table legs and chairs got a bold deep green paint job to make the design pop—and with Thanksgiving around the corner, it was a race against the clock! 🕰️ But thanks to my mom, dad, and husband (who all stepped in as helpers), we made it work.

This piece isn’t just a table—it’s a blend of craftsmanship, problem-solving, and family teamwork. Proof that even a first attempt can lead to something truly unique.

✨DIY Upholstery Refresh! ✨

This patio set has a special story! A family member gave me this dining set, but the original fabric wasn’t made for the outdoors. So, I gave it a full refresh—swapping out the old fabric for durable outdoor material and transforming it into the perfect patio setup! Now, it’s not just stylish but also ready to withstand the elements for years to come.

✨ Furniture Flip Alert ✨

I had the opportunity to flip this pre-1970s dresser for a client in need, and I couldn’t wait to bring it back to life! When I received it, there was a hand-painted mural on the drawers, but I don’t believe that was part of the original design. After stripping it down, I originally went with a light stain, but the natural wood grain created a pattern that didn’t quite fit the neutral look we were going for.

To keep things cohesive, I went back over with a darker stain to complement the refinished top, sealed it for durability, and kept the original hardware to stay true to the piece’s character. Now, it’s refreshed, timeless, and ready for the client's home!

✨ Furniture Flip Alert ✨

I’m so blessed to have received this beautiful oval table from a family member! 😍 It had some damage on top, but after a light sanding, a few coats of Golden Mahogany and Ipswich Pine stains to shade match, and finishing it off with Restor-A-Finish in Walnut, it’s looking better than ever!

It’s always amazing to see how a little love and effort can bring a piece of furniture back to life. What do you think of the transformation? 🖤
