🥰One of the things that gives me joy is turning children on to the beauty of flowers. I love eavesdropping on them as they pick blooms with their parents.

🌺Many families, like the Grants, return year after year and it’s fun to see children grow up, like Allie and Emma.

📸 Dad Josh showed me photos from earlier years and gave me permission to post.

⏰Time flies and I often tell parents to relish these years because before they know it their kids will be asking for the car keys and filling out college applications.

🐾Along with flowers, the girls are also dog lovers and had a visit with Marigold too.

🥰 One of the greatest rewards of my business is connecting with flower lovers. Some are brand new, others have been coming for years. Every day, these people make me feel so appreciated, and like what I do here very much matters to them.

🚘 Veronica drives a distance to get here. “This is my slice of heaven, she told me.

🌺 Jennifer and her Mom Krystal came on a Sunday. “We are having the BEST time!” Jennifer shouted across a peony bed.

🌸Lisa from Honor was one of the first peony Upickers this year. This bucket of beauties was bound for a non-profit group luncheon.

☕️I love young people. Do I say that too much? They give me hope, always. This fun group of women all work for Mundo’s coffee shops. I love coffee too.

✈️Three sisters came from Germany (Rachel) and Boston (Emily) to create a bridal bouquet for Lauren. Sisterly love!

💍Bride to be Jaime, seated on the bench, came with friends and family on a pre-wedding outing.

🚴I invited bikers with a cute toddler in tow from Colorado to take shelter under my shelter during a rainstorm. One rode off with a bunch of peonies for his sister.

✅ Hope I got all this right! Each and every one of you made my day. Please tag yourself if you wish!

Peony season keeps me hopping. I would say the crop is only about 30% cut by me or my Upickers. Loads of blooms to come so come on out! Bunches in the cooler too.

So many butterflies out here too!

This video is from 2019 but it is exactly what I’m doing today and worth a repeat. “Holding peonies” is a flower grower’s miracle and means that you will find bunches in our cooler every day in the coming weeks until they run out. I store hundreds of stems this way.

Peonies must be dry and in the “marshmallow stage” before you store them. I keep my cooler at 42 degrees so if you have a second refrigerator you can do this too and extend you enjoyment of this exquisite flower beyond its fleeting bloom time.

Omg. Peony heaven here at OCF. Bunches or by the stem in our cooler, or pick your own. Hundreds in the marshmallow stage or popping open now. 9 stem bunches are $33. By the stem $3.50.

Peonies are popping, people! (Photo taken 9 am Friday 6/12). These are in what we call the “marshmallow” stage—the perfect stage to cut them in because you get the longest life from start to finish. I’m sure there will be hundreds over the next week. I will be making bunches and putting them into the cooler as soon as supply permits.

Everyone is asking about Peonies. Here is the report as of Thursday morning. Some buds are getting a little squishy and I think that there are a few in the “marshmallow stage” now. I would say in the coming few days there will be more and more and then they will explode likely next week. Doing my best to predict, but it’s always hard to gauge. A lot depends on heat and Peonies do have a mind of their own 😂
