✨ TWO FOUNDERS WILL RECEIVE $750 EACH

Grant Award: $750 per recipient
Recipients: 2 founders
Application Deadline: September 30
Who Can Apply: Eligible U.S.-based founders, co-founders, and controlling business owners, from pre-launch through 3 years of active operations
Selection: Merit-based using published judging criteria
Application Fee: $10

This is not a random drawing. Applications are reviewed and scored using published criteria, including your business concept, what you’ve accomplished so far, how you plan to use the funding, and the potential impact of the award.

If $750 could help you purchase equipment, secure inventory or packaging, cover licensing, invest in marketing, build your website, or move another meaningful business milestone forward, I want to hear your story.

These little packets may be small, but they're someone's first introduction to Velvet Melt, so I want that experience to feel just as intentional as the full-size product.

I STILL CRY. I STILL STRUGGLE.

And sometimes…I still wonder if I'm doing any of this right.

I originally recorded this video for a grant application. But when I watched it back, I realized I was talking about so much more than a business.

I was talking about my life. My why. And what it actually took for me to start Moods by Michelle.

There was a time when I was in a really difficult place in my life—and still trying to hold onto this dream.

I DoorDashed to make money to put into Moods by Michelle.

Delivery by delivery.

Not because I knew for certain this would work.
Not because I had everything figured out.
But because I believed enough to keep trying.

And somewhere along the way, this became more than a business to me.

I love what I do.

I love creating. I love learning. I love watching something that started as an idea in my head turn into something real.

But loving it doesn't mean I don't struggle.

I second-guess myself.
I get overwhelmed.
I have moments when I wonder if I'm making the right decisions.

And yes...sometimes I cry.

You'll actually see one of those moments in this video. I thought about cutting it out.

I left it in.

Because if I'm going to tell you the story behind Moods by Michelle, then I want to tell you the real story—not just the pretty parts.

I'm still building.
I'm still learning.
I'm still believing.

And most importantly...
