Kickass Customs isn't a big company, it's a one woman show (plus help from my husband sometimes).
I started making decals about 3 years ago and since then I've spent countless hours learning all that I could from YouTube, instruction pages and trial and error.
I didn't have a big budget or fancy equipment. I had to try over and over and over again to get some designs to come out right. I learned all sorts of new computer programs and applications, techniques to get things to adhere or line up just right and ways to create things I envisioned.
I put so much effort into making things I liked and was willing to standby. I wanted items that would last and not fall apart the first time you wash them.
I would see other people start taking paying orders after 1 day of owning a cricut. I'd see them post in Facebook groups like "how do I make this shirt? I need to make 12 by tomorrow, I already took the order. Just got my machine yesterday" or even worse "This customer said the shirt I made them fell apart, what do I do?!" followed by 45 people saying to tell the customer tough luck.
For years I wasn't comfortable enough with my quality to sell my creations, but I'd see others with way less expertise than I selling away. I still decided not to sell. I made things for myself, my family, my friends and even non profits. I only charged the cost of materials (if that) and donated all my time and efforts.
After over 3 years of making items daily I decided I was confident in my skillset and knowledge to take the leap.
Why do I tell you all this you ask?
Because I want my customers to know what separates Kickass Customs from the competition. Kickass Customs is continually learning, developing and evolving. I take feedback and work even harder to improve processes. I will do my absolute best to make your purchase exceed your expectations from start to finish!
By purchasing from Kickass Customs you are supporting a small, local, military spouse owned business, but you're also supporting the hard work and dedication of one girl who just wants to make things she can get excited about.
Thank you for following me on social media and for reading this post. It's people like you that make it possible for me to do this!
With all the appreciation you can imagine,
Katie Forst
I spent a few years making my own shirts, mugs, decals, hats, you name it! Eventually, I had friends and even strangers asking for my designs. That's when I decided to start Kickass Customs! Each item from KC is handmade by me to the highest standards.
