🎃 Halloween Party Chocolate-Dipped Coconut Macaroons

Golden toasted coconut on the outside, a tender coconut center, and a thin dark chocolate base. These simple little mounds make a sweet addition to a Halloween party dessert tray.

Makes about 24 macaroons

Ingredients
• 1 bag (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened shredded coconut
• ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 large egg whites
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 6 oz (170 g) semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped

Directions
1. Heat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Mix the shredded coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla in a large bowl.
3. In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until stiff peaks form.
4. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the coconut mixture.
5. Scoop firmly packed mounds of approximately 1½ tablespoons onto the baking sheets, leaving 1½ inches between them. Tuck in loose strands so the mounds hold together.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the tops and edges are golden. Cool completely on the baking sheets.
7. Melt the chocolate in short microwave bursts, stirring frequently, or in a heatproof bowl over gently simmering water.
8. Dip only the bottom of each macaroon into the chocolate. Let the excess drip off, then place on clean parchment.
9. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
